Blood Heir by Amélie Wen Zhao

Blood Heir by Amélie Wen Zhao

Oh my gosh. I swear that was the longest freaking review I’ve ever written in my life, and it may be the longest review I’ll ever write. I don’t know if I can write this much again, or if I even want to, but I know I could have talked for hours on end about this novel. I let out some of it here, the ones that I felt I could say in the most coherent manner possible, but even then I’m not sure.

This may have been a “mini” brain dump of emotions and thoughts, but really I’ve been sitting on this review for a long time because I really wanted to give it the attention it needed. And I finished homework and sat down and started writing, and this is the end result. Wow. I’m honestly shocked at how much I needed to let out about this novel, but I’m not shocked at my final thoughts or rating because I knew I was going to love this. If I could give it all the stars, I would.

And that’s it! If you made it THIS far, wow. I thank you so much because this was a very long one. I appreciate you so much, and I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on this novel. Also, let me know what you think about the page breaks. I think it may have helped break this post up into smaller chunks to easily digest, because when you look at it in one full post, it’s a lot. Trust me, in case you didn’t see it. Try scrolling without reading it – well I don’t know if you can with this page break feature, my bad – but if you were to just scroll from top to bottom… it’s a lot.

Anyway, I’m rambling again and it’s already past midnight so I should get some sleep (as I’m writing this, not as you’re reading this lol). I love you guys, and I’ll be back for some more posts soon.

  1. I’ve been sold even more on this book after this review! I saw that there was a live chat with Zhao on the FB group and I only managed to watch a very short part of it in the beginning (when she’s struggling to connect with the chat haha so cute) but I’m looking forward to watching it in full. I love this review, I actually really love the page breaks (it breaks down the post into shorter more ‘reader friendly’ lengths) and I’m all for it! I also really love everything about your new graphics made my Kat! 😍

  2. So glad you loved this one! It is such a fantastic book for a debut and I am excited for the next in the series!
