Another week to wrap up, and I’m so happy for it. I may not have too many updates in the personal part of my life, but I am trying to make some positive changes all over, so I’ll talk more about that.

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news about the past week, reading recaps, new hauls, and more.

Yes, yes, yes I know I still have to read my backlisted arcs and more. I swear I’m going to get them, okay? I super swear!

Maybe I can commit to reading one a week or something? Like at night? On my Kindle? Something? I need to make a change.

- Valley Girls – Sarah Nicole Lemon
- Book of Souls – Nadine Nightingale
- Blood Will Out – Jo Treggiari
- Feminism from A to Z – Gayle E Pittman
- Fat Girl on a Plane – Kelly deVos

- Fiona and the Whale – Hannah Lynn (10/13)
- The Never Tilting World – Rin Chupeco (10/15 & 10/17)
- Smarter Than a Monster – Brandon Mull (10/15)
- Bollywood Wives – Alex Khan (10/19)
- The Memory Thief – Lauren Mansy (10/20)
I personally don’t know how it’s going to work for The Never Tilting World because I’m posting reviews for both, but they are two different blog tour groups. Hmm, give me advice for this one, gentle friends.

Oh so basically, I’m gonna be cocky as hell and choose the post that has a bunch of pictures on me in it because I paid a lot of money to do a bunch of photo shoots back in the day and I was loving it. Seriously though, it was a basic post and I may have felt like a basic bitch, but it’s my favorite! So I’m gonna share it here.
#BookBlogtober Series: Your Autumn Aesthetic

I’m pretty sure I didn’t buy anything? But I did get something that I ordered last week so that will have to count for this week. I also slowed down with my library books since I still have a ton of them sitting on my kitchen table. Noticed that they are still there and they haven’t moved? Herein lies my problem.
Just kidding. I bought some books the day before this went up so whoops.

- Seafire – Natalie C. Parker
- Brownies and Broomsticks – Bailey Cates
I also made a decision to return a few of the books that I just haven’t seem to be wanting to pick up. I still have a lot of books from the library though, so maybe I can dehaul more of the library books soon. Not sure yet, but I got rid of a lot of the contemporary romances that I thought I was going to read but am no longer in the mood for. I’ll re-borrow them in the future though, but I’m going to try to borrow ONE book at a time.

- Fireborne – Rosaria Munda
- The Beautiful – Renee Ahdieh
- Emergency Contact – Mary H. K. Choi
- When She Reigns – Jodi Meadows
- A Dream So Dark – L. L. McKinney
- Crier’s War – Nina Varela
I had to buy Crier’s War after getting a chance to read the ARC for a blog tour. I think that’s how you can tell if I love something so much, that I want to have it on my shelf. I will say that I’m eventually going to do a dehaul of a lot of my books on my shelf because I keep looking at my shelf and seeing a lot of books that I won’t read or want to read, so yeah. It kind of sucks though because I need to stop getting books based off my mood and not ones that I’m going to read. I’ll eventually change, right?

- The Vine Witch – Luanne G. Smith
- And Now There’s You – Susan S. Etkin
- The Candy Cane Caper – Josi S. Kilpack
I also finally got an ARC that was sent to me a while ago but apparently my mail carrier must have lost it or delivered it to the wrong house because I never got it the first time. I’m glad I got it this time because I would have felt terrible that they sent it twice and I still didn’t get it.
I also got another copy of The Vine Witch, so I plan on sending this one to Kal @ Reader Voracious for her international ARC program. I hope someone will read it and enjoy it as much as I did!

- The First Time She Drowned – Kerry Kletter
Thank you so much to Brittany @ Brittany the Book Guru for thinking of me and sending this copy to me! I was so excited to receive it and read your note. I would love to do a buddy read with you for this, so definitely let me know when you need to read it by, and I’ll move it up on my list!

So I may have mentioned this either on Twitter or on another post, but one of my favorite coworkers and one of the girls on my assistants team is resigning and I’m so heartbroken.

Of course, I’m so happy for her new opportunity and how it’s going to better help her little family financially and all that, but I’m seriously going to miss her so much because she’s always been so helpful ever since I first started and I really rely on her for the things that I haven’t learned yet. I know I’m going to have to kick it into gear even more, but I’m still going to miss her tremendously.
So because of that, I talked with my President and Vice President to start implementing weekly training sessions with my girls (the other sales assistants) so that we can continue to grow professionally and keep our skill levels up to make up for one less person until someone can take her place. I also have seen that some of the assistants have been making small mistakes a lot on stuff that we already talked about, and their managers are coming up to me about it, so I want to alleviate as many small and big mistakes as possible so there isn’t any more frustration all around. It’s going to be tough at first, but I know we can do it.
Root for me, fam! This is one of the few times that I’ve lead any sort of training in a long time and I’m hoping that things go well because I want all of us and especially my team to succeed under my leadership.
Also, remember how I said that I was going to get ramen on Wednesday night?

Here’s a close up of it. Sure, you can’t really see any noodles but they were definitely there. This was the first time I ever had pork belly in my ramen before, and it was actually pretty good! I may go back there again, but my favorite ramen is at another place that specializes in making it, so I don’t know. Nothing wrong with this one, but I miss the other one, you know?

I don’t think I’ve been really watching a lot of Netflix or anything this week, but I did end up trying to watch a little bit recently so I could rest my brain before I try to read the rest of The City of Brass – which I’m loving, by the way – and try to read A Curse So Dark and Lonely with some buddies. I really just needed to reset myself after hearing the news of my coworker and feeling like I need to make up for doing more and more and more even though I’m not doing bad at work.
I think I said that before, but I guess I needed to reinforce that though because I’m feeling inadequate.

After hearing that Sorcery of Thorns was super similar to Black Butler, I knew I had to try it. I super love the show so far, and I love that the voice of Sebastian is the same voice as Kyoya in Ouran High School Host Club, so I’m immediately sold.

I was also in the mood for some Will Smith because I love this man so much. Sure he’s getting old because hello that’s what humans do, but ugh I love him soooooooo much. Plus I love Gabrielle Union as well so this has both of them and I needed to rewatch this as an adult rather than a teenager that wasn’t prepared for some porno scenes and gore. I’m super prepared now lol.

Again it’s not a playlist – but there are some playlists that I do have on repeat all the time – but Becky G just released another music video and song and I’m so freaking excited for her! I can’t wait for her whole album to come out especially because I’ve been such a fan of her music so much and ughhhhhh. I love it!
I swear I may be low key attracted to women and I just don’t even realize it. Maybe I do. Who knows?
Or I’m like Toretto and just appreciate a fine body regardless of the make. That’s my favorite line, by the way.

I think that’s it for the week! I feel like I really talked about a lot anyway, but I’m glad I have a mini journal of sorts to talk about my week with people that I love and appreciate so much. I was reading a blog post about going back to journaling, and who knows? I may end up doing that. For my deep, dark secrets – if I have any. I have so many nice journals for it that I keep collecting and not writing in, so why not?
Thanks again so much for taking the time to read these posts and supporting me on my journey! It hasn’t even been a full six months of blogging yet and I already feel like I’ve been making a lot of progress. I’m having so much fun and reading so much more and making so many great friends in this community. Thank you again so much to all of you.

Ooh that is difficult with the two booktours for the same book haah!

Are there two different themes you could focus on for the two different book tours? Like, maybe in one focus on the worldbuilding and setting, and in the other focus on the characters?

Nicole!!! That is such a great idea 🙂 I was going to do something very similar to this but I like this idea way better. I’m going to credit you with this so that everyone knows ❤ And I think I know which topic will be for which book tour too! Thank you so much ❤
