WWW Wednesday – September 18, 2019

I got my CPAP machine yesterday, and it’s supposed to help me breathe while I’m sleeping, and I don’t know. I felt like I didn’t even sleep last night, so I’m dragging this morning. I was even late to work again today. For the past week and a half now.

Thank you again to Sam @ Taking on a World of Words for hosting this weekly meme. I’m pretty sure you all know the drill by now, but in case you don’t and you want to join, here are the three questions we always answer:

  1. What are you currently reading?
  2. What did you recently finish reading?
  3. What do you think you will read next?

So yeah. That was super short because I was trying my hardest to get this in timely. I think this is the latest that I’ve ever posted this before, so I’m so sorry about that!

  1. I was holding the opposite of always in my hands today in the library, but wasn’t sure if I wanted to pick it up. Are you liking it so far?
I really hope it is my turn for house of salt and sorrows for the library copy, can’t wait to read it!

    1. Opposite of Always is really good. It actually reminds me a little bit of myself, which makes me realize how my personality of all or nothing can be problematic sometimes. I like the main character Jack sometimes, and I feel like it’s such a good story. I hope you end up picking it up.

I hope you get HOSAS soon! I need to read that super soon 🙂

  2. I can’t wait to try With the Fire in High! I’ve just finished The Poet X and can’t wait to read more of her books! 💙 HOSAS is in my TBR and I’m counting down the days until my reservation is ready!! Great post 😊

  3. I hope the CPAP helps! I know that any kind of change to a sleep routine can take some adjusting, but I hope you manage to adjust (and get sleep!) soon.

I want to read House of Salt and Sorrows soon, too! I’m about to start Seanan McGuire’s A Red-Rose Chain, and I just finished Ashley Poston’s The Princess and the Fangirl. It’s been a good late summer for reading, I’ve gotten more read than I expected to.

    1. Thanks so much, Nicole. I know that it felt like I didn’t sleep at all last night, but like you said I’ll have to get used to it so I’m hoping that it doesn’t take too long for me to get used to it. I’ll definitely keep you guys posted about it on one of my Sunday posts or something.

Oh okay I haven’t heard of A Red-Rose Chain but I loved McGuire’s Every Heart a Doorway, so I hope that you end up liking that one! I still need to read Princess and the Fangirl so I hope you ended up liking that one 🙂 I’m glad you got to read more during this summer!!

      1. Fingers crossed! Sleep is so important.

A Red-Rose Chain is book 9 in McGuire’s October Daye series, so unless you read that series you probably won’t have heard of it. I really liked The Princess and the Fangirl, so I hope you like it when you get to it! Did you read Geekerella? TP&TF has some fun cameos from the characters in Geekerella.

        1. Ahh okay that makes sense! No I haven’t heard of that series but I’ll have to look into it and see if my library has it 🙂 Well, after I’m caught up with all these books I keep borrowing 😳

No I didn’t read Geekerella! I’ll have to read that one first then! I didn’t realize they were in the same world.

  4. I really hope that the machine helps 😦 I’m sure you’re so tired of feeling so down lately. On the upside, you’ve finished a TON of books lately! How are you liking The Priory of the Orange Tree? I saw that my library has that but it’s SO big and I just…. am struggling to commit to it lol.

    1. I hope so too! I know it’s not going to be instantaneous even though I want it to be, so I hope that it does end up making me feel better at least in a week or so. I don’t know how it’s getting done, but I feel like since getting back into reading again, I’ve been increasing my speed!

Priory is getting good. Definitely a slow burn in general, and not even talking about whatever romance there is supposed to be. It’s a lot of worldbuilding and set up in the beginning, and I feel like its taking a while to pick up. I’ll still get through it though to see if I still end up liking it ❤

      1. I hope it gets better! 😦 I was really hoping the machine would a much faster solution for you 😦
Ah, I bet you’re right about reading more increasing your speed! I definitely think that’s true!
I think for now I’m going to wait on the Priory just because I know how much I struggle with slow burns and I don’t want to put myself in a reading slump 😅 I hope you end up liking it though!! Keep me updated. 😊

  5. Oooh, Relic looks so interesting! Can’t wait to hear your thoughts. And Priory, my dear. You’re totally killing it. ❤ You finished so many booooks! I'm jealous. xD I finished … like … none. Teach me your ways. Also, I can't wait to hear what you think of The Rise of Kyoshi! I've been thinking about checking that one out, because I love me some Avatar: The Last Airbender. :3

    1. You should totally read Relic in about a year or so, when you’re finally caught up with all your ARCs and stuff 😉 Just kidding! Whenever you want though, I think you’d like it.

Ugh I am slowly falling behind on Priory. I don’t know if I want to listen to it anymore today, but I want to keep up with you guys.

Oh gosh yes I still need to read Kyoshi before the month is out!!! Teach you my ways? Just don’t ever stop reading.

  6. Damn, you’re on fire! Lookie you with all those reads, Leelynn! 😍 Looks like you’ve read and are reading some pretty good books. How do you manage to read so many books at once? Lol I thought I was good with juggling max 3 haha

    1. lol you’re the sweetest hypewoman ever, Dini ❤ thank goodness these have been good books! Honestly I can't imagine having to read something that I don't end up liking – although that did happen earlier this year but I still got through it. I think I've been lucky with the books I've gotten to read so far. Uh hmm… a physical book, a Kindle ARC, an audiobook. I only read 3 at a time I feel like. But I do have RWRB put on the side right now.
