WWW Wednesday – August 7, 2019

I think I’m getting sick.

Thank you to Sam @ Taking on a World of Words for hosting this. I swear you guys are amazing for keeping track and hosting things like this. I’m not as skilled so I give you all major props. Do you remember the three W’s?

  • What are you currently reading?
  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What do you think you will read next?

Let’s get it.

Also I totally need to show some love to my girl Becky G so enjoy her gifs!
  1. Into the Wildbarrens (The Gems of Elsana #1) – Christian Sterling – 6% (ARC Review)
  2. Golden Son (Red Rising #2) – Pierce Brown (Buddy Read with Elise @ A Book and A Cup) – 1%

I’m excited for this buddy read with Elise! We have two books planned for this month so I better jump on this ASAP. Also, I need to finish Into the Wildbarrens by tomorrow if I’m going to make my extended BookSirens deadline. So far I like it, so I don’t anticipate having an issue reading it. I think probably just falling asleep reading it. I forgot to bring my Kindle to work today, so I’ll have to read it when I get home.

  1. S.T.A.G.S. (S.T.A.G.S. #1) – M.A. Bennett ( ★ ★ ★ )
  2. Before I Disappear – Danielle Stinson ( ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ) ARC Review
  3. Comeback – Lyn Ashwood & Rachel Rose ( ★ ★ ★ ★ ) ARC Review
  4. The Corpse Wore Stilettos – M.J. O’Neill ( ★ ★ ★ ★ ) ARC Review
  5. The Night Tiger – Yangsze Choo ( ★ ★ ★ ) Buddy Read with Sammie @ The Writerly Way

Stay tuned for the buddy read discussion post with Sammie coming up sometime this week! Trust me, you’re going to want to read that one. Also, wow look at that! Three ARCs in a rows! I guess August is the month to catch up on ARCs. Let’s keep this momentum going.

  1. How the Light Gets In – Katy Upperman (ARC Review & Blog Tour with FFBC)
  2. Nevernight (Nevernight Chronicles #1) – Jay Kristoff (Buddy Read with Elise @ A Book and a Cup)
  3. Season of the Witch – Sarah Rees Brennan (ARC Review)

My blog tour post for HTLGI is coming up very soon, so I’m going to need to get on that ASAP. Also, since I already posted the interview for Season of the Witch, my review is long overdue. Let me catch up on those ARCs before the rest of the blog tours sneak up on me.

Five books again this week! Wow, I’m seriously just amazed at myself. Seriously. Pat my self on the damn back lol. I think that’s a good amount of books to be reading in between everything. I know some of them are audiobooks – which helps me get through my backlist – and I know I’ll have to try the trick that Evelina @ Avalinah’s Books mentioned on Twitter to me! I just have to transfer my books back to my phone and listen there because the Kindle Fire thing was being weird for me. Seriously, Evelina is a lifesaver!

What’s on your list, book friends?

Becky G and I wish you all the love

  1. Have you not heard of ARC August? OF COURSE August is the time to catch up on ARCs, and unlike some of us slackers, you’re killing it. 😛 Oooh, you’re reading Nevernight soon?! I can’t wait to see what you think of it! I’m waiting for Darkdawn and I’m going to marathon that mess, because I can’t handle any more serious cliffhangers in my life right now lol.

    Here’s my WWW post.

    1. I think Netgalley is having ARC August or something like that, and I forget where else it’s happening. I’m not actively participating (or at least I didn’t commit to in case I didn’t read anything) but I’m glad it’s starting off well 🙂 You’re totally not a slacker!

Yes! I can’t wait to start it because I need to get ready for Darkdawn. I’m supposed to be in a Nevernight group read but of course, I haven’t touched it yet. I’m a slacker at Jay Kristoff lol.

      Thanks for linking me!

      1. Yeah, it’s going around book blogs and such. I’m a sucker for participating in these things, even though I obviously shouldn’t because I’m bad at following TBRs.

I’m using the excuse that I didn’t read Illuminae until recently, so I didn’t realize how awesome he was. That sounds like a good excuse to me.

  2. Daaamn, 5 books is amazing!! I’m still stuck on ONE BOOK and it’s driving me MENTAL! This feels like an impending book slump and I am NOT here for it. I’m hoping that once I finish this book (finally at 65% I’ll kick off with my other reads. It’s already almost mid-August (wtf) and I haven’t finished one book. WELP. Haha ok, sorry for the freak out 😂

    1. Ahhh thank you Dini! I think it was kind of out of necessity because BookSirens has like hard deadlines (although they say you can miss it every once in a while, but I didn’t want to lol). I’m sorry that you’re in a reading slump 😦 Honestly, I don’t know what I do when I get in a slump besides binge watch a favorite TV show for a bit. OMG don’t remind me that it’s almost mid-August! It’s going by way too freaking fast. Oh don’t ever be sorry for a freak-out. You’re allowed all of them on here ❤

      1. I definitely think being part of a book tour and reading ARCs with others definitely helps keep you accountable as you don’t want to miss out lol

Thanks Leelynn! I hope I don’t slip deeper into this slumpy feeling but I think reading TIHIAI really pulled me into it. I’m now trying to find my next read but I can’t decide either lol

Also, I know, how fast is August going?! It’s truly a little insane!! 🙈
