WWW Wednesday – October 28, 2020

And today makes six years that I’ve been married. Wowwwwwww.

And funny enough, Mark actually surprised me yesterday by coming home from being away at his parents house due to a family emergency – basically the thing that I hadn’t really been talking about that I won’t get too much into – so that we can do something after I get off work today. So that was a cool surprise. Don’t know what he has planned but it was really cool to come home and see him after not seeing him for a while.

Thank you again to Sam @ Taking on a World of Words for hosting this weekly meme. I’m pretty sure you all know the drill by now, but in case you don’t and you want to join, here are the three questions we always answer:

  1. What are you currently reading?
  2. What did you recently finish reading?
  3. What do you think you will read next?

Honestly I’ve mostly been switching between White Teeth and More Myself since I really want to finish White Teeth before the end of the month. I want to finish that before Malala’s November pick gets here and I am behind on the Literati’s monthly club. I don’t want to start the inaugural book club already behind. I have been listening to The Only Good Indians sparingly at night but I need to make sure that I’m paying more attention to it since I wasn’t completely listening the entire way. BUT I did see that I got the physical copy today, so now I can listen to it AND read along with it so I can follow along! I’m excited for that. But the main goal is to finish White Teeth before the end of the month. I cannot fail with that one.

Last week was one of the worst weeks for me, so I’m honestly surprised that I was able to finish anything. I’m kind of surprised that I finished These Ghosts Are Family honestly, because I’d been listening to that on and off for months now. I do admit that I need to listen to that again and focus on it a lot more because it went over my head… I need to give that book a lot more justice than I did because I know that there are things that I’m missing and I need to understand better. So while I say that I finished it at least for the first time, I won’t be writing any thoughts down this time around until I listen to it again and maybe take some notes down.

I’m honestly surprised that I’m adding more contemporary novels on here when I’ve been reading a lot of them lately. Usually I’m a fantasy girl, and I think that I need to go back to my fantasy novels because I may need a break from all of the contemporary novels back to back, but I don’t know. These are library books so I really need to read them before I owe way too much in late fees. But I also don’t want to return them and then forget about borrowing them again. I swear, I’m the worst with borrowing books. I am supposed to only borrow one book at a time, and then when I put a bunch of books on hold just in case, then ALL come in at the same time.

I can’t believe that it’s already getting super cold! Thank goodness, peeps. I am tired of being hot. But also, it’s super cold! Mwahahah. But I am liking the sweaters that I get to wear again and I’m liking the sweaters that I’m finding on Fashion Nova that I’m trying so hard not to splurge on………..

SO HARD.

    1. Thank you so much! OMG That’s so awesome! Happy anniversary to you and your husband too ❤ ❤ I hope you have so many more years as well ❤ ❤

Oh yay that's so great to hear. I am personally loving both of those, and I want to put down White Teeth and read those right now first…. I may do that anyway since I haven't been able to really get much into White Teeth 😦

  1. Aw, what a lovely anniversary surprise! That’s very sweet 🙂 I hope you had a wonderful time celebrating, Leelynn and congratulations! 💐 I was just thinking the other day how I wanted to re-read Hoang’s books. I would definitely recommend The Bride Test (even up for a buddy read if you want the motivation 😉)! Hoang’s romances are 🥰🔥 Haha happy reading!
