#BEspring2020 Series: Knock Offs

I haven’t done a bookending event since winter, which yes was the last time we had an event but I seriously missed doing these posts! I’m going to make it a point to do the entire Spring event since I didn’t do all of the Winter posts – but I got to host for the final three days so that was pretty cool!

Thank you again so much to Sam @ Fictionally Sam and Clo @ Cuppa Clo for all of the work they put into making these seasonal events for us bloggers and content creators to have some fun. Seriously, I don’t think people realize just how much work goes into these events every season, and even before the announcement goes up and everything. It’s A LOT. So thank you so much Sam & Clo for continuing to make these for us, and just always doing amazing things all the time.

The banner and Sam’s link has the announcement post with all of the prompts and sign up sheet and information you will need in order to participate. Let me know if you’re going to sign up and participate too! I’d love to see your posts this month, and everything else you’re sharing in April. We gotta keep each other motivated with everything that’s going on, right? It’s been pretty insane so let’s keep positive and have some togetherness.

Thank you so much to Sam for hosting the first five days of BESpring2020! I think it only fits to have our amazing Sam be the first host of the event, don’t you? Let’s see what’s on the menu for today.

Old books creating cobwebs and dust on your TBR? Create a list of backlists books you are attempting to finally get off your TBR this spring!

Or, as my amazing friend Dini calls it: the possibility pile. We will see how I do for this Spring! You know how much of a mood reader I am, so it will definitely be a challenge to see how many of these books I can check off my list, if any. But I guess I’ll have to write an update post on how I do, huh?

Oh gosh, even as I try to think of this list, I’m thinking about how much of a mood reader I am and how I can’t even think of a list right now. This is terrible.

“Seize the wind,” I whispered. “Don’t become the kite that never flies.”

“Night and darkness made a believer of everyone.”

“People who let themselves learn new things are the best kind of people.”

“Trying to get better at the thing you want to be the best at is humiliating.”

“Polyamorous or monogamous, your love should be a thing that brings something to you.

It’s true that giving can be a part of love. But, contrary to popular belief, love should never take from you, Freddy.”

Okay that’s some of the ones that I really want to read because I’ve been putting them off since they got on my radar. Which of course, seems to happen like all the time. But let’s see if I’m able to stick to it this time around since I’m supposed to be staying at home until June 10th.

I think I mentioned that right? Let’s just keep hoping that things will be okay soon. Well, as soon as we can, without rushing it and things getting way worse.

  1. Awh thank YOU for taking part in the events Sam and I spend hours planning, honestly watching everyone take part makes it all so worthwhile. (Also can I just squeal about your blogs new design because it’s SO FREAKING ADORABLE OMG I AM IN LOVE WITH THE COLOURS THE GRAPHICS!)

I also want to read Spin the Dawn BUT I still need to buy myself a copy ahem which I was going to but other books were cheaper ooopsies. I’m currently reading Wicked Fox though and whilst I’m certainly enjoying it, I have found the pacing is fairly slow. I also need to finish Wicked Fox this month before I end up taking the entire of 2020 to read it xD

I’m hoping to get to THUG, Bone Witch and Ace of Shades at some point because holy smokes have they been on my TBR for waaaaaay too long.

    1. OMG Clo you KNOW I have to support you and Sam with these events! I know how much work you both put into it and while I don’t know everything in the back end, I can see the results and it’s absolutely telling of how much sweat blood tears and everything else you both put into this. I’m glad to be able to do this event this month and I do plan on applying to be a host again soon! I’ll be on the lookout for that 😉

Ahh thank you!!! Kat from Novels & Waffles made them for me and I think she did such an amazing job. I love looking at my blog even more now that she really brought my vision to life! Thanks so much for noticing and loving it too ❤

hahah oh gosh I think that has happened to me so many times. There's books that I really, really want to get and then I get something else at the time because wallet's been hurting lol. Plus with everything that's happening right now, the wallet may be hurting a little more so I guess I better make smarter book choices! I hope you're able to get a copy soon though ❤ I've heard so many good things about it and I can't wait for the sequel too!

I also heard that Wicked Fox moved kind of slow (which if we think about how it's supposed to be similar to a K-drama, then it makes a little bit of sense!) but at least you're reading it! Finish soon ❤ ❤ i can't wait to hear your final thoughts on it.

Out of those three, the only one I didn't read was Ace of Shades so you'll have to let me know how that goes! I may want to reread The Bone Witch though so I can refresh my memory before trying to finish the trilogy.

      1. ❤ ❤ ❤ Ooooo well we'll be happy to have you as a host again! Yes Kat did a wonderful job 🙂 Oooo that does make sense if its supposed to be similar to a kdrama, I mean it's still fun but now you've said that the pacing makes a lot more sense.

I shall let you know how Ace of Shades is if I erm remember xD my memory is like s sieve so I may forgot but I'll try if I remember

  2. Spin the Dawn is fantastic! And Laura Dean Keeps Breaking Up With Me has great art and is a really quick read! I’m totally a mood-reader too and some of these have been on my own TBR pile for a while. For shame!

    1. Ahh yay that’s good to hear! I’ve been wanting to read those two for a while but I keep putting them off for other books for book clubs and stuff. I should just drop all book clubs right now lol. But no, I’ll figure it out! I can’t wait to read those two.

Ugh yes sometimes it’s hard being a mood reader and then apparently never being in the mood to read the books you actually want to read! It’s such a strange sensation.

  3. I have Spin the Dawn and Wicked Fox both sitting on my shelf, they both sound so good but so many other books do too! I’ve been meaning to get Laura Dean, I’ve loved basically all of the First Second graphic novels I’ve read so far and it seems like such an interesting read.

  4. LEELYNN! Thank you SO FREAKING MUCH!! Honestly, getting to see y’all have fun with these events makes all the work so worth it! I love this community and your support is honestly the bees and the knees! THANK YOU!

SO MANY GOOD OPTION ON THIS LIST! And all of them are on my TBR bahahaha! Laura Dean Keeps Breaking Up With Me is probably the one I’m most excited for on my TBR from your list because WOW THAT COVER THO! Plus that title alone makes me wanna find out what the tea is with this relationship LOL. I am just smitten. ❤

Also, I haven't blog hopped all of 2020 to anyone (I'm the literal worst), so this is my first time all year seeing your new design and can we just take a moment to bask in this glow?! LIKE WOW OKAY LEELYNN I SEE YOU QUEEEEENNN!!!! I am loving these graphics and the mermaid! Like who knew I could stan someone even more than I already do! LOVE LOVE LOVE!

    1. OMG SAM I freaking LOVE these events! I’m so glad that you and Clo still make these events every season and getting so many people involved 🙂 Seriously shows how much effort you two put into it and I can’t help but support and love on it as much as I can.

Our TBRs will eventually be our downfall.

Hahah no omg you’re fine! I still need to blog hop all over the place. I’ve been so bad at that for this year as well but I miss it. I’m so glad that you got to see my newly designed blog though! I can’t freaking help but stare at it every single time! I love looking at my blog now heeh.
