Can you believe it’s already the 4th day of Halloween? Yes, I meant that.

I wish I had some cool and cozy places to read! I feel like really the only places that I do read are at home, but that isn’t always true, I guess. I’ll figure it out.
I have started sitting down in my backyard with my dogs when I get home and I rest my feet up on the bench that my husband made, let them run around and relax with me while I try to get some reading in. And take some pictures for the ‘gram of course. Sometimes I don’t though, because having this peace and quiet – for the most part, the dogs still have the zoomies whenever I get home – just feels so great and helps me recenter myself and feel better after the long day. It’s a nice break before I go back to work for my second job.
There’s this park a few minutes away from my house called Sleepy Hole Park. In this photo you can see there’s like this lake, and I usually sit on the bench right in front of it and soak in the sun and lay down on the bench and read until I get super hot. But it feels so good! I park my car right next to the bench so I don’t have to walk too far, and just listen to the water and relax. Sometimes I go there just to sit too. I’m not one that usually goes out into nature very often, but this is one place that’s close to home that I enjoy.
Well we don’t have that specific couch anymore since we moved, but I always curl up on the couch with a book and I have at least one dog next to me. Sometimes all four of them will try to squeeze up next to me and lay down while I read. Sometimes, I’ll read out loud to them and they’ll lay down and listen for as long as they can stay awake. It’s the cutest thing in the whole world and I wouldn’t change it for a thing.
You can’t really tell from this picture but my absolute favorite place to read is my bed. I love laying down right before bed, or even before I go to work for the night, possibly cuddling with one or more of my dogs, and getting some chapters in for the night.
I guess this post is low key saying you should follow my instagram because I’m trying to be aesthetically pleasing but it’s not happening lol.

laying down in bed and reading is the absolute best! I like to read outside, but it can’t be too hot out or else I won’t really want to read.

Exactly, Ali! If it’s too hot, I immediately want to go back inside where it’s cooler or I can at least adjust the temperature. Today is so windy though, and I’m kind of digging it!

I always gravitate towards my bed, or just laying down and reading in general 😀 But I love to read outside as well, especially during Autumn / spring when the weather is perfect, and I can just throw a hoodie on when it gets a bit chilly 🙂

Honestly reading in bed is so comfy! That’s one of my first choices for location if I can help it. If I want to force myself to be awake more often or something, then I’ll go somewhere else lol. I love laying down though especially since I don’t do it very often during the day.
