Book Blogger Hop 002

Book Blogger Hop 002

Here’s my second week of participating in Book Blogger Hop! But this time I’m posting this on Sunday to give my Fridays a breather from posts.

The Book Blogger Hop was originally created by Jennifer @ Crazy-For-Books in March 2010 and ended on December 31, 2012. With Jennifer’s permission, Billy from Coffee Addicted Writer relaunched the hop on February 15, 2013. Each week the hop will start on a Friday and end the following Thursday. There will be a weekly prompt featuring a book related question. The hop’s purpose is to give bloggers a chance to follow other blogs, learn about new books, befriend other bloggers, and receive new followers to your own blog.

Book Blogger Hop @ Coffee Addicted Writer is a weekly writing prompt for you to answer on your own blog. Prompts are posted well in advance. This week’s question from Elizabeth at @ Silver’s Reviews is:

What authors do you always read and recommend?

Surprisingly, this one is kind of hard for me. I don’t know if I usually recommend authors and that’s really because I’ve never read all of my authors’ books yet. But here are some authors that I love to read and will recommend

  • Pierce Brown
  • Leigh Bardugo
  • Rin Chupeco
  • Angie Thomas
  • Sarah Glenn Marsh

What about you guys? Remember, this is a post that is directly asking for comments and discussion so lay it on me! Also, wow I keep finding some lame ass grammatical errors on some blog posts that I didn’t catch before. I’m slipping, dudes.

  1. So hahaha. Half the time I would read a book, I’d barely look at the author unless I was trying to tell someone about it. I’m like that with music too. I can know a song by heart and have no idea who sings it!

The one auto buy author we do have at my house is Ruth Ware because my fiancee loves her books.

    1. Honestly I think that’s the best way to be! I don’t want to base a decision on buying a book or reading a book based on the author alone, so I usually pick books based on the synopsis and some other reviews or recommendations. I totally appreciate that!

I haven’t read anything from Ruth Ware yet but there are a couple I wanted to check out!

  2. There are very few authors that I’ve read where I loved all of their books. The only one I can think of right off the top of my head is Gillian Flynn. She’s not for everyone, though, because of how gory and morbid her stories can be, so I always mention that to people when I recommend her!

      1. Have you seen the movie Gone Girl? She wrote the book that it originated from! Actually, I think all three of her books (aside from her short story) have some type of film adaption. Dark Places was made into a film and was on Netflix at the beginning of this year, I think! I can’t remember exactly but I watched it sometime within the last year. Her other book, Sharp Objects, was made into an HBO series. So, if you wanted to check out her stories and miss some of the gore, you could watch some of it instead! She creates amazing plots.
