WWW Wednesday – July 3, 2019

Thank you again to Taking on a World of Words for hosting this weekly meme. Every Wednesday, we ask the important three W’s in the book world:

  1. What are you currently reading?
  2. What did you recently finish reading?
  3. What do you think you will read next?
  1. Eldest (The Inheritance Cycle #2) – Christopher Paolini – 83%
  2. The Bear and the Nightingale (Winternight Trilogy #1) – Katherine Arden – 48%
  3. Lock Every Door – Riley Sager (ARC Review) – 24%
  4. The Novice (The Summoner #1) – Taran Matharu – 19%

Since I’m part of the blog tour for Lock Every Door with The Fantastic Flying Book Club, I want to make sure I finish it early and have enough time to write my review and make my playlist. So that’s the priority while I slowly get through Eldest and The Bear and the Nightingale, which I’m taking forever to finish compared to the rest of what I’ve been reading.

  1. Mermaid – Jodi Picoult (★★★)
  2. The Tea Dragon Festival (Tea Dragon #2) – Katie O’Neill (★★★★★) ARC Review
  3. Death By Diploma (Chalkboard Outlines #1) – Kelley Kaye (★★★★) ARC Review
  4. Monica Adventures #3: Who’s Saying Nasty Things About Me… Online?! – Mauricio de Sousa (★★★★) ARC Review

I didn’t read a lot this time around, and I think it was because this weekend I just did not want to read anything. I needed the rest. I knew that if I wasn’t going to finish it in June, I didn’t want to start it yet because I had to prep for July. But I still think that’s pretty good!

  1. Ingrid, The Viking Maiden – Kelley Jane (ARC Review)
  2. Time Magic – Kelly N. Jane (ARC Review)
  3. The Seduction Expert – Saya Lopez Ortega (ARC Review)
  4. One Little Secret – Cate Holahan (ARC Review)

I need to get a handle on my ARCs people. That is all.

Phew. Yeah I took off anything that wasn’t an ARC for now, only because I want to knock out a lot of my ARCs before I start to feel overwhelmed again and disappear from the face of the earth. Trust me, it’s happened before and I do not want that to happen again. So how was your week so far? Any of those ARCs on your list as well? Which one should I read after Lock Every Door?

    1. I just finished it and finished writing my post for the blog tour! I’m like so used to posting my reviews immediately, that it’s so weird that I had to schedule it for July 12th! I just want to be able to talk about it already lol. Yes that should be coming up soon as well! I’ll be sure you see it ❤

Thanks for your link! I'm going to visit it right now!

  1. Your graphics are so prettyyyy. ❤ I'm always jealous of people who can read so many books at once. I get confused and end up getting sucked into one and setting aside the others until I finish it. xD I still need to read the Winternight Trilogy. It's supposed to be so good. I'll be interested to see what you think when you're done. I can totally relate to needing to get a handle on your ARCs. xD Pretty sure that's what all my next reads are for a while, too, hehe. They need to stop releasing great books for just a little while so we can catch up. 😉

    1. Aww thank you Sammie! I know I’m not the best at making graphics but I definitely tried my best for this. I used Canva and got the photos from Unsplashed since it’s royalty free and I’m not really good at taking photos myself. ❤ I know that's how I was between Eldest and The Bear and the Nightingale. I think I started Bear first, but I got farther in Eldest so I finished that first. If a story is really pulling me though, I'll put the rest aside and get that out of the way so I'm not left trying to figure out what happened next lol. I'll make sure I write a review as soon as I'm done reading it! It should be semi-soon, if I use this weekend wisely 😉 Yes I totally agree! Just hold it on releasing stuff for maybe a month. Can you imagine the chaos and anticipation though?

      1. I love Canva. I’ve been playing around with it. I just don’t have “the eye,” if that makes sense. xD It takes me so long to decide on something that I like, because I can’t quite seem to make it work. So I’m always amazed when people can. :3

Pffft, weekends aren’t meant to be used wisely, silly. That’s what the rest of the week is for. 😛

I think the people who are waiting on books to release during that month would revolt at having to wait an extra month. xD

  2. I still need to read Bear and the Nightingale but I’ve heard so many good things. I hope you’re enjoying it. Looking forward to what you think of Lock Every Door as well coz i’ve heard quite a few mixed reviews for it. I’ve only read one book by Riley Sager (Final Girls) and I loved it, so I’m looking forward to reading more of his books!

    1. So far I’m really enjoying it, although I got to a part that I was hoping wouldn’t come. One of my favorite characters… yeah. But it’s a really amazing book. So many Russian fairy tale creatures all in one! I wasn’t expecting that until I got further along.

Come back to my blog on the 12th and you’ll see my thoughts for Lock Every Door! I wasn’t expecting to get through it because I can’t do horror novels, but this was more of a thriller and I ended up staying up super late to finish it! So I must have liked some of it right? 🙂

I still have to read Final Girls. I read the synopsis for it and it sounds really interesting!
