Please tell me I wasn’t the only one that got this vibe from this graphic novel? It may not have been as scandalous as Gossip Girl, but it definitely was the same premise. People spreading rumors about one another with photos taken way out of context, only for everyone around school to be affected. In this case though, even teachers were the brunt of these jokes, not just a select few students.
In this world, Gossip Girl is replaced with Troll Castle, and the embarrassing photos and stories just keep coming. I think that this was a tame way to deal with cyber bullying in a constructive way, but also making it fun and enjoyable for teenagers or even young adults like me to get through.
I also really liked the artwork in this one. While the eGalley I received was in black and white, I could imagine some of the nice colors that this would have once printed for the masses. I also like the plan to find the culprit, and thinking it was an inside person also gave me Gossip Girl vibes (Dan Humphrey, anyone?)
I liked this one a lot. It was a cute read, and it makes me wonder how the first two editions were of Monica’s Adventures. I don’t really see her as a main character per se, but she is a cutie. I don’t mind it being a little bit about her and her friends.
