Thank you again to Sam @ Taking on a World of Words for hosting this weekly meme. I’m pretty sure you all know the drill by now, but in case you don’t and you want to join, here are the three questions we always answer:
- What are you currently reading?
- What did you recently finish reading?
- What do you think you will read next?

- I Love You So Mochi – Sarah Kuhn
- All I’ve Wanted All I’ve Needed – A. E. Valdez
- VenCo – Cherie Dimaline
- We Are Your Children Too: Black Students, White Supremacists, and the Battle for America’s Schools in Prince Edward County, Virginia – P. O’Connell Pearson
- Blazewrath Games – Amparo Ortiz
- Southern Sorcery – Amy Boyles

I forgot to post about it, but Sunday was my mom’s birthday! I wish that I was there to celebrate with her and my brother, but I at least made sure I called. I did totally mess up on the gift part though because my brother and I didn’t end up coordinating well to make sure we sent the gift on time, but I’ll have to make up for that next year or something. Yes, I was so much better when I was younger, but it’s the thought that counts, right? Right.
So far my readings have been going well. I couldn’t believe that I was getting through a non-fiction novel, and even though it was for my work project, I don’t think I’m going to go with it this year. It’s a possible contender for next year, and I’m excited for it. But I’m glad that I was able to try a middle grade non-fiction novel! It was such an interesting experience, and the topic was also something I hadn’t heard about before. It’s so interesting that this happened not that far from me right now.
I don’t know how much reading I’ll be able to get through the rest of the week since I have a board meeting on Thursday up in Richmond and then I’ll be going to the Submarine Ball on Friday, and then working all day Saturday. I’m hoping that I’ll be able to get some reading on the drive to and from Richmond, and then maybe when I get home from it and before the Sub Ball. We will see though!

- The Grace of Kings – Ken Liu
- Frizzy – Claribel A. Ortega
The Grace of Kings took me a long darn time to read, but it was totally worth it. I also need to spend some time writing up my reviews and discussion posts. If I was staying at the hotel Wednesday night like usual, I probably would have brought my laptop up and tried to write it in the peace and quiet. But I didn’t end up picking that option this time since I am getting off work late on Wednesday. I’m going to have a hard time waking up in the morning though, but I need to be able to somehow.

- Seoulmates – Susan Lee
- Together We Burn – Isabel Ibanez
- The Davenports – Krystal Marquis
I think I’m so close to finishing a few books all around at the same time, so it’s going to be interesting to see which one I end up starting next. Oh my gosh, I can’t even think about which one of these that I will pick but I’m thinking that it will be Seoulmates since that’s this month’s book club read.
I know that I need to return The Davenports soon, or possibly now so I may not get to that yet. But either way I will end up reading it eventually.

I feel terrible for continuing to push back the composition of my posts but sheesh, the longer I wait the harder it will be to end up writing about it. I’m going to need to set aside some alone time for real, for real.
Okay, y’all. I can’t wait to see what ends up happening! And I hope that it ends up turning out well. See y’all in the next post!

I really liked Seoulmates and I hope you enjoy it too, it’s so cute!!

Happy belated birthday to your mum! I hope she had a great day 🙂 I’d be keen to see what you think of Blazewrath Games cos I read my first book by the author a couple of weeks ago and it didn’t hit the way I thought it would! I’m also really interested in Ken Liu’s book but also intimidated as heck because those books are chonky AF, lol. I hope you have an awesome week ahead, Leelynn. Happy reading!
