WWW Wednesday | 5 April 2023

Thank you again to Sam @ Taking on a World of Words for hosting this weekly meme. I’m pretty sure you all know the drill by now, but in case you don’t and you want to join, here are the three questions we always answer:

  1. What are you currently reading?
  2. What did you recently finish reading?
  3. What do you think you will read next?

So I am super duper close to finishing The Grace of Kings, and I’m so happy about that! That would be my first book for Astrology Readathon, and then I can try to go on to the next prompt for the Aries season. I should be able to finish both before Taurus season, and I’ll be on track to finish by the time the readathon is done. I’m super proud of my progress so far!

Since I’ve been doing my painting more than annotating, I may switch to an audiobook for I Love You So Mochi so that I can get it off my list, but I’m still debating on that. I think what makes this reread special for me is being able to write my thoughts down, and I won’t be able to do that while I’m painting and listening to the audiobook, so I may just keep it on there for a bit. If anything, I may schedule some weekend time to go to a cafe and spend an hour or two annotating without being distracted by the TV and the dogs. Maybe this Sunday or something! I’m still trying to figure that out.

VenCo was supposed to be a buddy read with someone on a Facebook group, but my buddy stopped at Chapter 8. They didn’t really like it, which was a shame since I really love it, but I know not every buddy read will have us liking the book together. I’m looking forward to continuing it to see what else happens.

So, I’m pretty surprised to say that I have been finding C. J. Archer’s books to be really interesting. So far I’ve been enjoying her novels in the three series that I’ve been listening to with the library. I know I talked about it in my Top Ten Tuesday post, but I’m really happy that Archer was able to get audiobooks produced for her series because they have been great to listen to. She is an amazing mystery novelist, and I’m loving the fantasy series as well. Yes, all three of them seem to be in the Victorian era, and I’m okay with that. I’m just glad to see that I’ve been getting through series thanks to hoopla!

I also finally finished my buddy read with Joanna and it was absolutely amazing! I was going to try to write my review tonight but I’m just feeling a bit too tired after all. I’d rather spend my night reading than trying to be coherent through words. I was also glad to hear that Joanna loved it too, and I’m hoping that we can share our thoughts together on our blogs. More about that later.

So I don’t know what else I plan on reading yet, and I don’t want to jinx it yet because when it seems like I put it on the list, I don’t end up reading it when I want to. Or at least, when I plan to. So I’ll just not put it down yet and then I can possibly include it for the Taurus prompt, which is to read a book that I’m in the mood for. Since I’m a mood reader, that helps a lot!

And there we have it! Yep again I’m really tired so I won’t write my review for Partners in Crime yet, but I’ll get to it soon. Hopefully sometime this week. Can’t wait to write it up and post it, so I can share it with you here.
