Sunday Post | Last Week’s Stress Paid Off…

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news about the past week, reading recaps, new hauls, and more.

I had a dream that I was reading an arc. Does that count?

So I did really good this time because I only borrowed these three books for my personal consumption. The rest of the books that I borrowed, I’m reading them for research for an upcoming project that I’ll be a part of, so that doesn’t count. Plus I leave those at work so they don’t get mixed up with the ones I have here to read. So yay, me! I did get another ILL so I’ll have to prioritize that again as well, but I was also able to extend my other two ILLs to later on in March so I have time to catch up and read those! Super happy with that, honestly.

I guess all that hard work last week paid off because I heard from my Exec Team that not only did they hear positive feedback about how I did from my coworkers but they heard how well I did from the general public as well. That’s such a huge deal for me, and I’m so proud of myself for pushing through. I was honestly so stressed about last week and how I felt like I wasn’t going to do a good job because a lot of those programs I’d never done before and didn’t have an idea of how I should do it. I was especially scared about doing Family Storytime for the first time because I feel like I don’t do well with babies and younger children, and that’s what Storytime is all about. But I guess some of the parents said good things to other staff and I was shocked about it.

I’m glad that this past week allowed me to reset myself and I didn’t have to do as many programs as I did the week before. I also got to get in more research on the books I’m going to be presenting for selection for the project I was talking about. I won’t say anything yet because I don’t know if it’s actually going to happen, but hopefully I can share about it soon. Trust me, if it does end up going through, I’ll be dedicating some of my blog to talk about it.

I’m still really irritated that the Spotify widget only works when I’m at work now, and I don’t freaking get it, but WHATEVER. As long as people are able to see what the heck I’m listening to, I guess.

But like I’ve noticed, I haven’t really been listening to music as much lately because I’ve been listening to audiobooks on my free time and on my commute. Surprisingly, as I write this post, I am listening to the same playlist I mentioned two weeks ago, so if you want to be reminded of that, I’ll post it again – even though I have no idea if it’s showing up – but it’s the Medieval Lo-Fi playlist on Spotify. Top tier chill music, with tons of ATLA Lo-Fi music on there, so it’s perfect.

I was messing around on Crunchyroll because I hadn’t been on it in a long ass time and I’m still paying for it, so I figured might as well look at what’s what. And I totally stumbled upon the Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney anime on there! I wonder if it’s on Funimation as well, or wait, aren’t the two supposed to be merging at some point? I don’t remember. Someone let me know and remind me. But anyway, I watched the first three episodes and I loved it. I’ve always wanted to play the game so it gave me some nostalgia for it, and come to find out, there’s actually the PS4 version of the game, so I bought it! I don’t know when I’ll play it, but at least I have it. Muahaha!

So I spent some time going back through my Sunday Posts from back in the day, and yo I used to talk a LOT. And I feel terrible because I didn’t actually respond back to comments like I should have, and that’s just a dick move of me. Especially because I loved reading the comments and seeing my friends let me know about their lives and their thoughts. I do miss how much I felt like I was part of the community back then though, and I honestly don’t know if I’m still welcomed in the community. Long story, but yeah sometimes I feel like I’m an outsider as much as I want to get back into the swing of things. There are those on here that I love and adore and have always made me feel welcomed though, and I appreciate them for it.

I’m definitely going to try to get back to writing this for me though, and just let my soul run through my fingers and onto the keyboard and be the happy reader and blogger I was back then. With the positive mental health boost I’ve gotten with this new job, maybe that will happen again.

  1. Great job at work! Family story time sounds like a good time. I love taking my toddler to preschool story time now that he’s grown out of baby story time. I hope you have a great week!! I wish dreaming about arcs totally counted. 🙂

    1. OMG Yes he does!! It’s on Crunchyroll. From what I’ve seen, it’s a pretty good adaptation of the games and I love how they incorporate some of the game graphics into the anime. It’s very entertaining, so hopefully you can find it and watch it 🙂 I’m hoping I can end up playing the game at some point this year since I bought it lol.

Yes, that was such a huge thing for me! Thank you so much ❤
