Top Ten Tuesday | Romance Books on TBR

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

It’s so great to be back into Top Ten Tuesday posts. Can I also say that I’m so happy to see that Jana is still hosting this as well, and how strong it’s still been going? My goodness, this is definitely one that hasn’t gone away and I’m really happy for that. Now I just have to make sure that I include my post in the links like before or else I’ll forget.

I went with a pretty basic topic since this was a freebie week – Thanks for that Jana! – and since I can’t seem to come up with a better idea, I’m just going to list the top ten romance novels that I want to read. Let’s hope that they are good picks!

[1]- Love, Decoded by Jennifer Yen

Okay FIRST OF ALL! Look at this freaking beautiful cover? Yes, this is definitely one of those cover buys and yet I haven’t bought it yet, but I know that I will. I also just want to read more romance novels in general, and this is an author that I want to check out so, I might as well have this on the top of my list.

[2]- That Time I Got Drunk and Saved a Demon by Kimberly Lemming

Oh my gosh! The moment I saw this title and the cover, and saw that there was a sequel with an even better title, I knew that I wanted to read this! It looks so freaking amazing, and I need it in my life. Did you also know that it looks like Orbit is going to republish these books?! That’s so amazing!

[3]- Make a Scene by Mimi Grace

This isn’t the only Mimi Grace book that I want to read, and I know it won’t be my last. Since I want to read the second book in this series for the Astrology Readathon that I plan on participating in, it makes sense that I should also read this one.

[4]- Play to Win by Jodie Slaughter

This is another book that I came across that I want to read. I definitely want to try to read more Black romance novels, and illustrated covers like this are always ones that catch my eye more. This doesn’t come out until later this year, but I hope that I get a chance to read it when I can.

[5]- Love and Other Flight Delays by Denise Williams

Denise Williams is an author that I’ve wanted to read for a while now, and this would be my chance. There are other novels of hers that I also need to try, and I think I actually have some of them in my catalog to read. I also love traveling, and this cover and premise definitely gives me going abroad vibes and now I want to travel the world.

[6]- Lunar Love by Lauren Kung Jessen

My cousin actually read this one recently and she said she really enjoyed it! This has been on my radar since the cover reveal and I really want to read this one soon. I don’t know when I’ll be able to read it, but it is on my list nonetheless.

[7]- Exes & O’s by Amy Lea

Um… can I just say that I’m really wanting to read this novel because I’ve been dying to read Amy Lea? Plus the premise of a romance novel-obsessed social media influencer is amazing since I would absolutely love to be a social media influencer in some capacity. I couldn’t be that famous or anything but I love when people tell me that they were inspired to read again after seeing my posts.

[8]- Friday I’m In Love by Camryn Garrett

I am always down for black joy and queer pride, so seeing something like this would be absolutely amazing. This came out in January 2023, so not that long ago at all and I’m so glad that I can get a chance to read this sometime soon.

[9]- Required Unrequited Love by Mina Ramzy

This is definitely a new one that I have seen and that I want to read. I don’t think I’ve seen a premise like this one before, and this is also a new author to check out. I also love the idea of pen pals since I used to have a few and I used to write so much, but lately I haven’t been able to sit down and write in a long time. I hope I can get back into it one of these days.

[10]- Partners in Crime by Alisha Rai

Alisha Rai is one of my favorite authors as well and I am dying to read this one because it looks freaking amazing! Also look at that cover?! My gosh, the covers lately have been absolutely perfect and I need this to keep happening.

So even though I went with a pretty easy prompt, it was the perfect way to get back in the swing of things. So I’m not too mad about it. What about you? What kind of prompt did you end up doing, or if you didn’t, what’s a romance novel you have on your TBR that I should also keep an eye on? I always love to see what’s on someone’s radar, so lay it on me!

Can’t wait to see y’all next time.

  1. TTTs are definitely a great way to get back into the swing of things. Glad to see you posting again, Leelynn 🙂 I’m hoping to read a few of these as well, although I’ve read books by some of the authors like Lemmings and Williams and I really enjoyed their romances! I hope you love all of these 😍

    1. Thanks so much, Dini! It’s been great practice trying to get into it again. I may actually add it to my “checklist” of sorts on my Finch app so that I can see the progress I make of posting every day. Even if it’s something small or hopefully I can post some reviews again. I haven’t done those in so long. I can’t wait to see your thoughts when I browse your blog again ❤

  2. How nice that you found your way back into blogging, and it’s always nice to meet new people here. Thanks for finding me.

I see you don’t have had any trouble to find books that fit the topic. Well done.

I’m looking forward to further posts.

And thanks for visiting my TTT this week.

      1. You’re welcome. I love TTT but don’t always have the time for it and, because I’ve been participating for a long time, sometimes they repeat themselves.
So, welcome back to the blogging world. Are you one of my new “followers”? Unfortunately, Blogger doesn’t show the links anymore, so it’s always a guess who that might be.

  3. I seriously love all the covers on this list – the drawn style just appeals to me so much. I really love certain romance books and all the ones in this list are going directly on my TBR if they aren’t there already! Except for Partners in Crime because I already read it. *whispers* it’s especially amazing as an audiobook
