You know, I never thought about having a mystery as a novella but now that I’ve tried it, I kind of liked it! It was like a mini episode of Elementary or something, which is a show I absolutely adore. I kind of forgot that not all mysteries take long to solve, although I do love when they do.
In this case, we had a case of overdoses in a certain hospital on patients that were getting ready to discharge. The link between those murders was the nurse taking care of them, and yet she claims she didn’t do anything that would kill them. While the police work that angle, a freelance photographer who is in town on assignment read an article in the newspaper about the murders and ends up helping with the investigation in a unique way.
I liked the simplicity of the mystery, and I like how we get to see a male amateur sleuth get involved, even if he doesn’t consider himself one. He’s an amazing photographer and is always paying attention to even the slightest details during his work. Who knew that would actually work in his favor? I recommend giving this one a try. I enjoyed the audiobook and I’m excited that I’ll get to listen to two more books.

Troy Lambert is a freelance writer, author, editor, and publisher who has dreamed of writing books since he was a young boy. He wrote his first book, George and the Giant Castle, when he was six years old. After being told by teachers, counselors, and many people around him that writing was a great hobby, but not a great way to make a living, Troy explored other money-making options.

Joseph has always been fascinated by literature and the stories it creates. This storytelling eventually led him to acting. He has spent the last several years in the Treasure Valley acting with Encore Theatre in Nampa, River City Entertainment and Boise Little Theatre in Boise, and the Thunder Mountain Line in Horseshoe Bend. Aside from gunslingers and murder mystery detectives, favorite roles include John Proctor from The Crucible, Benedick from Much Ado about Nothing, George Bailey in It’s a Wonderful Life, Hamlet in Hamlet, and Edmund in King Lear.
