Top Ten Tuesdays – Valentine’s Day / Love Freebie

So it looks like I am finally back-ish. Week 7 of being sick/in pain, but I do have a couple of procedures scheduled for Monday so hopefully they can figure out what’s wrong and why it’s been lasting so long, you know? Anyway, since I hadn’t done a Top Ten Tuesday post since December, I figured I’ll get back into it. Plus, this can help me enjoy Valentine’s Day while the hubs is on duty that day. The perks of marrying a military guy hahah. Just kidding. I’ll be with the dogs reading some contemporary romance novels.

This one is a freebie, so I’m going to make it easy for me right now. For this post, I’m going to pick the top ten contemporary romance novels that I want to read. Simple, right? Maybe too simple…

[1]- One to Watch by Kate Stayman-London

Technically I was supposed to read this for a book club last month I believe, but I’ve been so drained and worn out from being sick that honestly I don’t think I read much at all since I got sick. Which sucks because I love reading of course. I’ve been working on some audiobooks though, so I guess that helps.

[2]- The Wedding Party by Jasmine Guillory

I didn’t think that I would love the second novel in this series as much as I adored the first, and I was totally wrong! Jasmine Guillory is now one of my favorite romance authors, and I can’t wait to read the rest of this series! I’ve been dying to read this one because I wanted to finish everything already! But I’ll wait a bit until I finish the rest of my library books…

[3]- Girl Gone Viral by Alisha Rai

I absolutely LOVED the first novel in this series, and Alisha Rai is one of my favorite authors now because of it! I need to know more about this cast of characters and I can’t freaking wait to read this and the conclusion.

[4]- Take a Hint, Dani Brown by Talia Hibbert

CHLOE WAS MY FAVORITE in the first novel. That may be obvious since it was mostly about her and Red, but getting to hear about the rest of the Brown sisters really intrigues me. Plus I think I may already be on #TeamDani from what I read of her in the first novel. We will see.

[5]- The Friendship Zone by Abby Jimenez

I’ve been wanting to try books from Abby Jimenez, and since this is the first novel in this series, might as well start with this one, right?

[6]- Honey Girl by Morgan Rogers

Ugh this cover though! It makes me want to get some blonde hair again… well actually I already do have something semi-similar to this but goddess braids instead of just natural curls. Ugh so beautiful. I got a copy of this with Book of the Month and I’m so glad to be able to pick it up to read soon!

[7]- Make Up, Break Up by Lily Menon

I adore Lily Menon (aka Sandhya Menon) and I know I want to continue to support her and all of her novels! I have this one on my Kindle, but I still need to pick it up quickly! Maybe this month will be when I do that.

[8]- The Heart Principle by Helen Hoang

I loved both of her earlier novels in this trilogy and I have no double that I will enjoy this one. I’ve been dying for this one to come out already! Is it August yet???

[9]- Love in Color by Bolu Babalola

Sometimes I just need to get out of my head and read a short story. That’s part of the reason why I’ll end up reading anthologies once in a while. I’m so curious about this one and I can’t wait to see where this journey takes me.

[10] Am Extraordinary Union by Alyssa Cole

I adore historical fiction, and it’s just icing on the cake to have a historical romance in play, you know? This one pulls to me because our main character ends up giving up her freedom to become a spy for the Union Army during America’s Civil War. Would you give up your freedom to go back to the place where you were enslaved and worked so hard to get out of? I couldn’t imagine, but I want to read this.

There’s so much more out there that I know if I saw it, I’d want to read it. It’s always a challenge picking your top ten anything, but I think I had fun with this one. It may have been a simple freebie, but I really had to dig deep and figure out which 10 I’d pick. So here we go! Let me know if you’ve heard of either of these books, or if you’re also wanting to read them as well!

      1. Oh, Kay, you’re the sweetest! Thanks so much. I wouldn’t have this cute blog without Kat with Novels & Waffles! She made my blog look SO much better than when I started.

Oh, I’m so glad that you enjoyed An Extraordinary Union!! You’re the first person I know that has read it before. Double kudos that you loved it! I’m even more excited now ❤
