Sunday Post – December 8, 2019

I swear every weekend I just want to end up resting since the work week is always really intense with all the brain power I need to use, and then I end up making myself sick from not resting like I should. I’m supposed to go to a fashion show tonight, but I don’t think I’ll feel up to it by the time it comes around. *sigh* It’s a bummer, but hopefully my friend will understand. Or if I do go, I’ll leave super early. Plus I have work tomorrow and I probably need to go in a little earlier because my boss has a lot of back to back meetings and I need to go over his schedule for the week.

I’m tired, fam.

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news about the past week, reading recaps, new hauls, and more.

I’ve been doing such a great job catching up on my backlisted ARCs every week now that I have been doing a read it or weep type of thing. If that makes sense, anyway. I’m on my next one, so I’m hoping that I’ll finish it by next Sunday! Or even earlier, if possible. We’ll see.

  • A Song for Bill Robinson – C.E. Atkins
  • Storm of Secrets – Loretta Marion
  • A Christmas Hamster – Stephanie Digg
  • The City of Souls – Vacen Taylor
  • Christmas From the Heart – Sheila Roberts

Wow can you believe that 2019 is almost over? I wonder how many ARCs I’ll end up finishing by the time December is up.

This was also a pretty slow week for book hauls, and I’m totally okay with that. I actually have so many books to read this week and I know I’m not going to finish them all, but at least I can start them in between all my rest periods. I guess.

  • Gin & Daggers (Murder She Wrote #1) – Jessica Fletcher and Donald Bain

I hope I get to read this one soon because I really just missed this show. It may be on Hulu, and if it is, I’m definitely going to have to watch some of it again. I used to watch this and Matlock with my mom and grandma growing up, so it brings back some great memories.

I legit screamed when I got Woven in Moonlight in the mail! I’m so freaking happy that I got approved to be on the blog tour for this one, and got approved for a physical copy as well! Ugh I’m just so floored in the best way possible and I can’t freaking wait to start reading this one!

So, I was appointed by the Governor of Virginia to sit on the Statewide Independent Living Council, and the news was released on Friday. I was just so shocked and honored have been appointed for this Board because… well you can see it on my Instagram post, and if you’re friends with me on Facebook (feel free to add me of course!) you’ll see that I was following in my grandpa’s and mom’s footsteps by getting this appointment.

Other than that, I’m just taking it day by day, trying to rest as much as I can when I get a chance. That’s why I don’t think I’ll be able to go to the fashion show tonight, even if I wanted to.

When I’m back on a full schedule again, I’ll be sure to keep you guys updated on some more things that are happening with me. Other than that, I’ve been watching the original 90’s dub of Sailor Moon whenever I get a chance, and I’ve been loving it. Ended up binge reading The Wedding Date but don’t have the energy to write my review like I want to, so I think I’m about to take another nap.

Yeah, today is going to be a sleeping day with the puppers. I’m way too tired with too much of a headache to do much. Until next time, fam.

  1. LEELYNN, YOU ARE SO AMAZING!!!! 😍🥰😍🥰 A massive congratulations to you for being appointed this position! I honestly don’t know what all it entails except for what you’ve shared on bookstagram and through this post, but it sounds like a position where you get to do some good for the community and follow in our family’s footsteps, and that’s truly amazing! Well done, you 🥳

It looks like you’ve been really killing it with the ARCs and blog tours, as always! Look at you slaying left right and center 😂
