#BookBlogtober Series: October TBR

#BookBlogtober Series: October TBR

Oh look, a new header specifically for the fall season! And yes, I say fall because that’s what we call it in Hawaii. But for all my sophisticated friends, you know I mean the season of Autumn.

First, I’d love to thank Entertainingly Nerdy for showing me this prompt post on Twitter, and thank you so much to Jenniely for creating this last year! Since I missed out last year, I’m going to take part in this for 2019! So thank you to both of these amazing bloggers for getting me involved in this new to me season through blogging and book love!

Be sure to check out Jenniely’s original post (linked above) to see all the prompts for October and if you do participate, make sure you tag her and give her the proper credit!

So everyone knows that I’m the worst at creating a TBR because I am a total mood reader. But! For the sake of Blogtober, I’m going to actually share a list of books I want to read, a brief reason of why, and you can either hold me accountable to read these books or watch me fail like I normally do.

This just feels like an October read because of the colors on the cover. And I feel like I’m not going to get to it this month for some reason, so might as well shoot to read it next month!

This is another one that I feel would match October because of the magical realism involved in it. I want to read things that either have magical creatures, magical realism, or are fantasy related for October since hello? Halloween and spooky season!

JUST KIDDING I ALREADY READ THIS ONE IN LITERALLY A DAY.

African witch doctors FTW! This book has been talked about all over the place, and I’m so glad that I finally have it. Also, I heard that there may be a movie with Michael B. Jordan coming in the future? I’d love to see what he does with it.

Maybe I’ll finally continue with this series and try to read the second one. Plus since this book gives me major Buffy vibes, I feel like it’s perfect.

I know this one has been a hit or miss for a lot of people, but I think I’ll be prepared if I’m not blown away. Plus, hey. I may not be as cultured in spooky stories so it may work for me. Who knows?

This has been sitting on my desk for months and I have been dying to read this one! This would be my first Rick Riordan Presents book and since this is a standalone – unfortunately – I think I could handle reading this one.

I mean I did the preorder campaign for this, I’ve been seeing this everywhere, and I can’t wait to support Lim. I just haven’t read it yet. I want to dedicate a good time to read it, and I think October would be a good month to do so.

Of course, this does not count any of the ARCs that I need to read for blog tours or anything, but just some personal books that I want to read.

Also, since I’m terrible at keeping to my TBRs, we’ll see if I even read ANY of these.

Oh this was a fun first post! I’m going to start planning these posts ahead of time – at least as much as I can – so I can keep track and have my posts up for the whole month. Let’s stay tuned!

    1. Thanks so much for passing on your link, first of all! I can’t wait to check out more of your posts ❤

Thanks again so much! I'm terrible at keeping up with TBRs, and that's why I don't like to hold myself too them too strictly, but we will definitely see how I do. I hope you end up liking Spin the Dawn!

    1. Thank you so much ❤ I'm looking forward to it by thinking as positively as I can! We can only go up from here, right 🙂

I'm a huge mood reader too, so I don't anticipate reading many of these, but I'm definitely going to try.

I can't wait to see your thoughts on both of them!
