WWW Wednesday | 03 April 2024

Thank you again to Sam @ Taking on a World of Words for hosting this weekly meme. I’m pretty sure you all know the drill by now, but in case you don’t and you want to join, here are the three questions we always answer:

  1. What are you currently reading?
  2. What did you recently finish reading?
  3. What do you think you will read next?

I think this is the first time in a while that everything that I’m reading right now are ARCs! I am a little late in getting to them but I’m working through them as best as I can. I also slowed down a bit with Last of the Talons and switched to a physical copy because I don’t think I was paying much attention to the audio. Which is weird because usually fantasy novels are my main books on audio. I think it’s because I’ve been pretty stressed out about moving and every time I try to listen to something, my mind ends up wandering and I don’t end up catching what’s going on. Luckily, I wasn’t that far into the book so I was able to switch and I’m farther now than when I was listening. This also isn’t a bad thing about the audiobook because it’s great and Jaine Ye is an awesome narrator. So I recommend listening to it when you get a chance, I just need to be able to focus on everything and I haven’t been able to do that with the audiobook.

Everything has been great so far, and I’m glad that I’m enjoying my current reads.

Clearly I’ve been in more of a romance or contemporary kick this year compared to fantasy, although if we look at my stats on Storygraph, I’m pretty much reading more fantasy. I think since books can have more than one genre element associated with it, there are some books that are showing up on both the fantasy and romance category without it being considered “Romantasy”. I don’t know if anything that I’m reading is considered romantasy honestly, but either way I’ve been happy with the majority of the books I’ve read this year. So far so good!

Also, don’t forget to check out my March Wrap Up on my Instagram! I’ve been having a lot of fun writing up my reflections for each month. It helps me to see how I’m doing with my goals outside of just numerical data.

I’m super proud of my journey this year!

With how much I’m reading, there’s really no reason why I haven’t read the above books yet. I need to just get to them already! But there are other ARCs that I need to get to before I need to post for blog tours and all that. Sometimes it’s hard to get to the backlist books that you want to read when you are supposed to be reading ARCs by a certain deadline. And while trying to catch up with other ARCs that are already way behind schedule. Aiyah!

How has your reading week been? How has your week been in general? I’ve been feeling a bit of FOMO lately looking at these awesome indie bookstores on the ‘gram, wishing that I could go visit them and just be in their presence, but I won’t be able to do that for a bit. I just need to get me and my family to where we are going, get settled, and then go from there. I also think I need to buy a new laptop when I get there because my laptop just did something really weird and now it’s looking all weird. I’m scared it’s going to break before I move and I won’t be able to work in the meantime. Let’s not put that in the air…

Okay gonna go! Be safe and happy, friends.

  1. Hey Leelynn! Altho I don’t always leave a comment, I always enjoy reading your posts. 😊. The book club at my library is helping me to read books I would not choose myself. So, last month I read The Boys by Ron and Clint Howard (I would rate this a 5 out of 10, as it wasn’t that interesting, even tho I grew up with Happy Days). For April, I am reading, This Tender Land by William Kent Krueger (loving this great adventure story). The month of May, I will read The Stranger in the Lifeboat by Mitch Albon. 📚🔖 Hope your move goes smoothly. Jennifer
