Top Ten Tuesday | Bookish Goals for 2024

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

Hey mersquad! It’s been a while since I’ve been on the blog, but I’m trying to get back on it. I think it’s the medicine. Honestly, the earlier I take it, the quicker I get tired and then I don’t have time to do anything I want to. It makes it hard to keep up with the journaling and tracking that I want to do. Which is interesting because it is part of the goals that I’m trying to have.

I don’t know if I want my goals to be similar or almost exactly what they were last year, but I know there are at least some goals that I want to continue from last year. I talked about reading goals and whatnot in my Let’s Talk Bookish post from last week, which I did end up briefly talking about what my 2024 goals could be… but I haven’t actually voiced my goals for the year. I also feel like I’m holding off on it because I don’t really know what I want to focus on. Or at least I don’t know ALL I want to focus on.

I guess that’s the good things about goals though, they can change based on what my priority is and I don’t have to stick to something that isn’t attainable or worth it for me anymore. One of the goals I have though is to continue being consistent with my tracking and journaling, and even if I don’t do it every single day – like I haven’t been so far – it doesn’t mean I have to give it up.

What are some of your reading goals? I don’t think I have ten to talk about either in the future, and I’m sure some of you mentioned some goals on my other post. Are there any goals that you’ve had in the past that you would want to continue or see some similar goals throughout the bookish community? Let’s talk about it here.

See y’all soon!

  1. Sometimes there’s value to not setting any goals at all. 🙂 There’s absolutely nothing wrong with having “go with the flow” be one of your goals and just accept whatever “reading” looks like for you at any given moment. Goals don’t have to be an end-all, be-all. They’re supposed to be motivation to get you to a place you want to be. Sometimes, “just read” is a perfectly acceptable goal. Hope 2024 treats you well!
