The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news about the past week, reading recaps, new hauls, and more.

So while I haven’t actively read any new ARCs lately, I did check to see what I may have done a review on that I didn’t realize was one that I was sent, which just so happened to be at least TWO that I found! I made sure that I uploaded them to Netgalley and that’s helped a bit with my ratio, and my progress. So yay me!

My next Rapid Review Round-Up is going to be four of the ones that I’ve read in the past couple of years that I saw on my Netgalley list so I can increase my ratio a little more. I’ve also been doing an amazing job at not actively requesting any more on Netgalley, and I haven’t been actively asking for any books to be sent to me so that’s one thing. Now, whether I get sent books or not, that’s something else. But I definitely need to work on them soon. Potential 2024 reading goal? I think so.

Do you ever come up with a plan, or a list that you intend on completing, but the idea of actually having to go through the list just doesn’t end up happening?

Yeah, I feel like that’s what is happening. However! I know that this is just because I need to get back into the habit of being accountable for my goals again, and I know I will get there eventually. So here’s what I’ve done so far in the past week in regards to my reading list.

While I didn’t start any of the romance books that I thought I would, I did end up starting another one that is part of the series that I wanted to finish before the year was out. And if I finish it, then that’s another series that I would have finished this year! Which is awesome. I also need to make sure that I try to read my two book club reads so that I can try to get involved in the discussion when it happens.
Let’s see what happens next week.

It’s getting that much closer to the end of deployment and I have been trying to make sure that I have the house in some sort of order before he gets back. It’s not terrible or anything, but I have a LOT of packages that I haven’t opened yet, and I don’t think I will open them yet until I’m ready to read them. Because why? Yes, those are those books that I was talking about, and this is my way of keeping track of the ones that I still need to read since I’m not writing them down anywhere yet.
Plus, I don’t know. Having packages to open is like having Christmas or my birthday every single day, or at least every day I want to open something.

But I can at least relocate them to my officer rather than the living room, so that’s what I’m doing. I also have a lot of candles that I need to open and eventually use. I don’t like using them though. Isn’t that weird? Same thing with washi tape and journals. I’m like a dragon, hoarding things that I like. It’s just… I don’t even know how to explain this better than that.

I also tried to participate in a weekend readathon, but I wasn’t completely free all weekend. I finished one whole book in this readathon, but it was a graphic novel. I don’t know if that counts in that readathon, but I did finish three books in that three day period, as in the “finished reading” dates are within those dates. I only counted the one that I started this weekend. If there happens to be a three-day weekend where I have to do absolutely nothing, I would be curious to see how I do. I know that I wouldn’t be reading for that whole amount of time, but it would be nice to see.
Speaking of: has anyone ever actually read for a full 24-hour period before? I would love to hear about that if you did.

I get into moments where I don’t really listen to music as much. Which is okay, because that’s when I notice that I’m listening to audiobooks a lot more. I remember when there was a time where I could get through an audiobook a day, even when I was at work because it didn’t require me to talk to people as much. I kind of miss that job, mostly for that perk. But I’m glad that I’m not there anymore since it wasn’t a guaranteed permanent position. That’s contract work life for you. I appreciated having that job while I did, especially since it was one of the first jobs I got when I moved out there to Virginia. It was stressing me out trying to find a job at the time since I had relocated from Guam to here due to the military. Oops, I feel like I’m rambling a bit. But anyway, I’m not in the same situation as I was before to hyperfocus on an audiobook a day, and that’s okay. I still get my reading in, and that’s fun.
I’m such a damn fan of Anitta that when I saw that she had a new song coming out at this time that I knew I was going to be a hella fan of it. Which I am, and I love it so much. So here’s the music video, which was so damn sexy oh my gosh. I love me some Anitta, so y’all should watch it too lol.

It’s almost as steamy as some of those romance books y’all read lol. Especially in just a few minutes.

I went back to watching OG Charmed because it was easier to have that in the background while I’m doing other things like writing since I know this show almost as well as Xena and Buffy. Gosh, I miss the 22-episode long series that we used to have, and all that. I haven’t really watched the reboot of Charmed, but I know I need to give it a chance.
I’ve been watching it lately, and I know that the actors had a hard time working together, but you would never tell by watching it. They did an amazing job being sisters, it really makes me love their relationship and wish I had sisters like that. Granted, I also wish that I had powers like the girls, but that’s another story. I don’t know if I could be a good older sister like Prue and Piper – and the only reason I’m not really including Phoebe in that is because I feel like she worked better as the younger and middle sister. She’s my favorite character though, although I do love all of the sisters.
Oh anyway, yes. Charmed. One of my fave comfort shows.

I hope everyone had a good weekend, and I hope that you are all doing well. If you aren’t, please know that I am here for you in any way that I can. It’s been a rough time lately, and I know that there’s a lot of us that are struggling. Just know that you aren’t alone, even if it feels like it.

Is there anything you’re looking forward to? Let me know!

I love reading books and then realizing/remembering that I had an overdue netgalley arc, it feels so good to mark those off! Also good to know that I’m not the only one who leaves new books in unopened boxes until I feel ready to deal with them. haha
Happy holidays and reading!
