Thank you again to Sam @ Taking on a World of Words for hosting this weekly meme. I’m pretty sure you all know the drill by now, but in case you don’t and you want to join, here are the three questions we always answer:
- What are you currently reading?
- What did you recently finish reading?
- What do you think you will read next?

- I Love You So Mochi – Sarah Kuhn
- All I’ve Wanted All I’ve Needed – A. E. Valdez
- Partners in Crime – Alisha Rai
- The Grace of Kings – Ken Liu
- Force of Fire – Sayantani DasGupta

I finally started reading one of my books for Astrology Readathon and it’s so far so good. It’s definitely an high fantasy and I don’t know if I should have tried to read it or not. I think if I tried to physically read it, it would take me so much longer and I might not get through it. But also, I’m really not liking the narrator for it. It just doesn’t feel like it matches what it should be, you know? But it’s okay I guess. There’s a lot of political intrigue, lots of conspiracies and killings and whatnot, and it’s interesting.
I’m absolutely loving my buddy read book with Joanna though! I forgot what day it was – possibly Sunday or something where I was able to get through so much of it in one shot. I actually want to try to read more of it tonight before I need to go to bed. I like the aspect of corrupt family members and criminal deeds somehow woven into this contemporary romance in a way that makes it exciting and fun. Whether it’s realistic or not, honestly I don’t even care at this point. You never know what people are hiding these days, so it could very much happen!
Then I have another research book that I started. It’s so funny and charming. I love MG books, and I’m glad that I’m purposely getting a chance to read them more for this future project I’ll be a part of. I’m really hoping that I can do this successfully. This will be a huge test for me, and I hope I succeed.

- We are Blood and Thunder – Kesia Lupo
- Beetle & the Hollowbones – Aliza Layne
- The City of Dusk – Tara Sim
- Her Majesty’s Necromancer – C. J. Archer
I’m honestly surprised I was able to get through those books this past week. The City of Dusk was for a group book club, and I finished it before the discussion, and then I freaking missed the discussion! I was so upset about missing it, but clearly my body was just way too tired to be functional at that time. I worked on Saturday and then I needed to recover, so clearly I was just not in the right energy field to do so. I don’t even know if that makes sense, but it is what it is. I don’t even know how I feel about it, but it was definitely interesting. I’m curious to see how the second book is, and how the story will end. I may have to do a slower reread in the future, maybe some sort of very slow annotation reread so that I can keep up with all of the characters and gods and plots. I got the gist of it, but I felt like I was missing something.

- Blazewrath Games – Amparo Ortiz
- Seoulmates – Susan Lee
- The Half Life of Valery K – Natasha Pulley
Blazewrath Games is the other book I plan on reading for this zodiac season of the Astrology Readathon, and I can’t wait to get to it after I finish The Grace of Kings. I am glad that I started with the thicker book first, especially because I was worried about whether or not I would be able to get through it at all. I know I’ll love Blazewrath Games, but I’m not sure if I’ll like The Grace of Kings. Seoulmates is the next book for the book club that I read The City of Dusk for, and I’m going to try to get a copy of that as soon as possible. I requested it from the library so now I’m just waiting for the copy to come in.
There are so many other books that I borrowed as well that I need to read, and hopefully I can slowly and surely make my way through them. I thought I was doing a great job at not borrowing any more books.. and then I walked out with five more in the past two days alone. I swear this addiction is not as bad as it could be. I swear I don’t have a book problem at all. Not at all.

I can’t believe this is the last Wednesday of the month. I haven’t had a chance to get more painting in, but I’m hoping that I’ll be able to do so this weekend. It’s almost midnight on Tuesday night as I write this, maybe 58 minutes until midnight and for some reason I just can’t seem to get the energy to get up and paint right now. It’s a paint by numbers project, and for someone who really isn’t as artisically free as I would like to be, I think it helps to have the guidance of the numbers and paints to come up with a painting. I’m okay with it not being my own design or anything, and I get to go back into something that is just fun and without the pressure of being perfect. I hope that makes sense.
How has your reading been going? Do you have monthly reading goals? I think I’m hitting my monthly reading goals, with possibly the exception of writing and posting a review once a week. If I’m able to write a review tomorrow night before I set it up for Thursday, then I would have reached that goal. It’s a book that I read a while ago though, and many books ago, so I’ll have to see if I remember enough to write about it. I’ll again tomorrow night when I can empty my mind and just chill.
I hope you’re doing well, and I can’t wait to see you next time.

I hope you find some time for painting!! I also love to read MG books! I hope you have a great week!

Thank you so much ❤ Spending time on the weekends to paint seems to be when I do it, since I seem to paint for hours without realizing how much time has past!

ooooh that’s so awesome Yolanda! What ended up being your first book for Astrology Readathon? I’m hoping I can still reach my goal of 2 books per zodiac period. So far so good, but I may be running late already lol.

Oooh excited to see what you think of Grace of Kings, I’ve seen that one on Twitter and was wondering whether to add it to my TBR. I hope you manage to find time for your painting and enjoy all your reads 😀

I’m going to work on that review soon, and hopefully I can also get that discussion post up eventually as well. I don’t know if the thoughts I was having when I was reading them are still in my head clear enough to write them though.

I totally get that! I have a few days after reading a book to write my review, anything after that & I struggle to get my thoughts together 😀
