WWW Wednesday | 01 March 2023

Thank you again to Sam @ Taking on a World of Words for hosting this weekly meme. I’m pretty sure you all know the drill by now, but in case you don’t and you want to join, here are the three questions we always answer:

  1. What are you currently reading?
  2. What did you recently finish reading?
  3. What do you think you will read next?

I’m actually reading AN ARC! Holy cow, I’m reading an ARC people! Sound the applause, because three months into the year has me finally cracking open an ARC!

It’s actually for the first bookstagram tour that I’m doing for the year as well, and I’ll have to make sure that I post my post on time, so someone remind me about that when it comes up… kidding… kind of. I’ll remember! I honestly haven’t touched I Love You So Mochi in a bit and that’s really because I’ve been trying to work on my ILLs so I can return it. It’s March, after all, and I’m running out of time. It also feels like it’s taking me forever to get through these books, and it’s probably because I’m always tired. It’s okay though, because I know I’ll get through them.

Okay listen, I just have to shout out Suffolk Public Library’s hoopla catalog for having such amazing cozy mystery series to listen to. That’s really why I’ve been listening to mysteries so much, and it’s been helping me get through series when I usually don’t seem to get through them. I don’t know what it is about it, but I also like to listen to them at night before bed while I’m trying to sleep, and then they start getting interesting and I end up wanting to stay up a bit longer. Yeah, it may defeat the purpose of trying to fall asleep, but hey, at least I’m getting some reading in! To me, that’s what matters.

Yep… I have another ILL that came in unexpectedly. So it’s been moved up the TBR because I can’t afford to not read it and then ask for an ILL AGAIN when I asked for it in the first place. I’m going to have to not request so many ILLs at once, because what if they come in ALL AT THE SAME TIME and then I have no way of reading them all before they are due?!

I actually need to get through the books I want to submit for consideration for Battle of the Books quicker than I am right now. I’ve been working on listening to them at work since I’ve been taking some notes for them. I think my notes may actually be a bit too in-depth at this preliminary stage, but I’d rather have what I want to share ready to go, and to show that I’m serious about why I picked certain books, than just coming with “because it looks cool.” None of those books were picked without a reason, but I like how I’m taking my notes right now. But that means that I need to spend as much of my free time at work as possible to get through the books, so I’ve been listening to them rather than physically reading them. I know I get through them faster that way, but I still have the physical books on hand so I can refer back to something I heard that I want to make a note of. That’s the best way to do it right now.

I still can’t believe it’s already March. It’s a whole new month with all new programs and a tight schedule. I’m pretty much working every Saturday this month, which I didn’t even realize until I looked at my schedule again. It works that I get to take the Fridays off that I work on Saturdays, so I’m not working six days a week. I think there was at least one week that I did work six days, which was definitely tough. And each Saturday I work has programs happening, two on the same day for each Saturday! It’s going to be tough, but I’ll get through it.

Can’t wait to see you next time!
