This was such a cute and interesting little book. At first I didn’t know how the Little Deer or the Dragon were going to play out in this novel, but it definitely did in the end.

So this novel was about Molly and her brother Tom visiting their Grandma, who happens to live pretty close to Willow Tree Wood. There’s a dude that actually lives deep enough in the Wood that the mailman can’t drop off his mail so Grandma makes sure that Molly and Tom go give it to him. That’s pretty deep in the Wood, and I’m curious to know about the logistics of where he gets his groceries and clothes and stuff.

But anyway, Molly and Tom come across a little fawn near their grandma’s house that seems to be waiting for it’s mother to come back to it. Then they also come across a dragon that also lives in the Wood that never had a name before. The dragon was over two hundred years old and nobody ever gave the little dude a name? Broke my heart when I first read that.

I’m curious to see what other kind of magic is in the Wood, and the other creatures besides a dragon that live there. I also wonder if Grandma knows about the magic that surrounds her, and if she just plays pretend so that Molly and Tom can have some little secrets of their own during their visit.
