Sunday Post – March 1, 2020

Okay maybe I shouldn’t have taken a nap after my Chemistry class. Well I know I needed it but still now I’m awake when it’s almost midnight and apparently I’m starving even though I ate dinner, but I mean I guess that was a few hours ago.

Anyway, here is my next Sunday Post! I really wanted to make sure that I had this up since I had some breaks in between my blog tours, which trust me I totally needed.

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news about the past week, reading recaps, new hauls, and more.

Yeah….. okay

I’m not even gonna comment here. You already know.

  • The Opposite of Falling Apart – Micah Good
  • Cepharael’s Hand – Melissa McPhail
  • From Thailand With Love – Camilla Isley
  • Little Deer and the Dragon – J.S. Betts
  • The Winter Duke – Claire Eliza Bartlett

I need to get rid of a bunch of library books that I’m not even reading yet and then I’ll borrow them again and then let them sit on a pile until I need to return them again and just repeat the cycle until I eventually read them. Yeah, I think I’ll do that.

But surprisingly, I didn’t have any books that I borrowed this time! Well, yeah.

Yeah so apparently I bought two copies of The Bone Houses because I needed to read it for TBR and Beyond. I didn’t realize that I bought one on Barnes & Noble, and then one on Amazon until they both came in. So, yeah one of these copies is either going to the library or I can do a giveaway. Let me know what you think I should do. Either way, I want it to go to a loving home where it deserves.

Also, I totally ended up buying The Claires because of the unboxing video that Kal from Reader Voracious showed us on her Patreon. It just sounded so freaking amazing and even though I never read what this book was based off of, it says that we don’t have to. So I’m going to read this eventually and then see if I want to read the original series that this came from.

I freaking cried when I received A Song Below Water and Raybearer in the mail. I was NOT expecting the first novel because I got denied on Netgalley to read it – understandable. I need to raise my ratio which I’m working on. And then to get approached by Ifueko and his team to read Raybearer?! Ugh I just feel so damn happy and humbled and honored. Every single time I’m considered to read a book and publishers or authors want to hear my thoughts, I just can’t believe it. I appreciate it so freaking much and I’m always happy to bring some light to books that aren’t as “famous” as others, but deserve all the love.

I don’t even know if I feel like talking about it I guess. I started listening to the Shine App that I found to help me with my mental health, which I feel like it’s been working so far. I have been using it in the morning to do a morning meditation, help with my breathing exercises and just set myself for the day. I think it’s been helping, but today I’m just tired as heck.

I actually got a pretty good score on my latest Chemistry Quiz that I took this weekend! I have another one next week though, on a lab that is a little bit more complicated but I have the week to study. I just need to really get on that. I haven’t touched my additional Chemistry resources all week for some reason. I may have overdid it last week, but maybe I’ll find a way to balance it out.

Thank goodness Spring Break is coming up. Then I can take a week to just freaking relax from homework. Since this school doesn’t seem to open up any of modules early enough to actually start anything while I’m on break anyway, but maybe that will be a good thing. Then I can actually give my mind the break it needs, you know?

On good news, I’ve been having fun posting pictures of my book sleeves because they are super fun. And super cute! I am biased towards the large sizes so they can fit the hardcover books I get, but sometimes the small ones are good too for the smaller paperback contemporary romance novels I’ll read.

Oh, snap I guess I better also post my update for State of the ARC for February because I’m pretty sure I got a lot read. Still have to read a lot more though, but I will!

I’m also going to have a meeting at work tomorrow about a project I want to propose, and I’m hoping it goes well. I seem to be pretty anxious about work because I don’t understand the vibe I’m feeling. I’m really hoping it’s just me being self-conscious for no reason other than me having that stupid imposter syndrome that I really need to get over. I’ll let you guys know how it goes, and if my anxiety had some merit or not. The hope is that it doesn’t.

I also don’t think I shared this before but I got to have some really good ice cream from a Yelp Elite Event! It was soooooooo good. Even though the drive was really far, it was totally worth it. I may need to take the hubby there to try it out one of these days. Don’t know about today, since I may be knocked out, but definitely need to go on one of these weekends coming up.

This one definitely gives me some beats to get me through the morning at work. I don’t know if I’ll still be able to listen to it when I discuss my new job description and all that, but I’ll do my best to make sure I’m still doing okay in my space. I need that me time to ensure that I can refocus and center myself.

Music really helps.

Yeah apparently I needed to rewatch the first movie with Christian Bale because we always watch The Dark Knight – which was AMAZING of course, but I needed some Liam Neeson in my life. Plus this movie was good to me too! Don’t know why I don’t watch it more often. Of course, we watched this after watching The Dark Knight, and for some reason the third one isn’t on Netflix so I can’t really do a full marathon, but at least I got to do this.

Rest in Peace, Heath Ledger. Ugh I miss you all the time.

I need to sleep and I’m so glad that Hitch was on Netflix too because I needed some POC romance in my life. Sometimes I forget that this was one of the few romantic comedies where one of the main couples were POC! Wow, the things you don’t pay attention to until you actually start paying attention, you know?

Ugh I say “you know” way too much but whatever.

  1. Wow, I don’t know where you find the energy to do all the things you do but it’s really admirable! Lol But it sounds like taking a proper rest during Spring Break would do you some good–always nice to let that mind and body rest 😉 Also those book sleeves are mega cute! Hope all went well with your work meeting. Have a great week ahead, Leelynn ❤
