Shelf Control 004 – July 17, 2019

Thank you so much Lisa @ Bookish Fantasies for creating this super fun tag! It forces me to go through the many books I have on my shelf and figure out what the heck to read next!

Want to participate in Shelf Control? Here’s how:

  • Write a blog post about a book that you own that you haven’t read yet.
  • Add your link in the comments!
  • If you’d be so kind, I’d appreciate a link back from your own post.
  • Check out other posts, and…

Have fun!

Title: Burn for Burn (Burn for Burn #1)
Author: Jenny Han & Siobhan Vivian
Published: September 18, 2012
Length: 356 pages

LILLIA has always looked out for her little sister, so when she discovers that one of her guy friends has been secretly hooking up with her, she’s going to put a stop to it.

MARY is perpetually haunted by a traumatic event from years past, and the boy who’s responsible has yet to get what’s coming to him.

None of the girls can act on their revenge fantasies alone without being suspected. But together…anything is possible.

With an alliance in place, there will be no more “I wish I’d said…” or “If I could go back and do things differently…” These girls will show Jar Island that revenge is a dish best enjoyed together.

how did i get it?

Barnes and Noble is my go to store honestly. Although I think that when I bought this one, I was living in Guam so it was probably at Bestsellers. There isn’t B&N on Guam, but they did ship there in case Bestsellers didn’t have it.

when did i get it?

Probably around 2014 or 2015 or so. I don’t keep receipts.

why do i want to read it?

I’m intrigued by Jenny Han (I bought her books, but still haven’t read them yet) and the premise for this one just sounds really cool. I like collaborations between multiple authors that don’t usually write together, and seeing the kind of masterpiece they create. Plus it’s Jenny Han.

Oh I found the audiobook for this one at my library! Once I finish the 20 thousand books in front of this one, maybe I can finally get to this. Have any of you read this one yet? What do you guys think?

  1. I think I’ve heard of this, but didn’t know much about it. I loved the trilogy about Lara Jean (To All the Boys…) — so charming! This sounds like an intense read.

      1. I’m torn about which I enjoyed more. I personally liked how the relationships evolved in the book, and I felt it was simplified a lot in the movie? But I also reaaally enjoyed the movie 😅 Haha I hope you enjoy both!
