To any and everyone who has decided to go on this journey with me, I bet you’re probably wondering why it’s been a month since I last reviewed a chapter. I’ll be honest. I couldn’t put the book down after every single chapter to write about it, and I fee like instead of reviewing them, I’m summarizing them. I don’t want to give the contents of the book away, spoiling the chance for interested readers to go on that adventure themselves. So, with a little advice I received, and a lot of hard work and decision making, I have decided to make some changes to how I will do things.
I will no longer do Chapter Reviews for every single chapter of every single book.
This is due to what I stated above mostly. Another reason is because I don’t want any of my readers to get bored of basically seeing a book summarized before their very eyes. I’d rather keep my readers engaged throughout our journey, through each book I read. I will probably review the first couple of chapters, as I did for the first book I have been reading, and will not review the book again until I finish it. Then, I will give a complete review of the entire story, how I felt about it as I was reading it, and what I took away from it. I will also open up the discussion with anyone who has either read the story, or anyone who has questions about what I talked about. I would love to turn this blog into something interactive, and any feedback I receive is highly welcome.
I will have scheduled video posts on my new YouTube channel to accompany this blog.
Since I want to keep this more engaging than just constantly reading what I have to say, I also want to start incorporating videos into this blog, making it more interactive and interesting for those who may follow me. I have already created the channel, although I have not made it public yet. Once I get the hang of recording myself and making videos (I have not done so and I will need to work on this before anything else can happen), I will start posting videos. For the Vlog side of this blog, I plan on talking about the different characters and themes of each book, and may even take some questions from my viewers to answer in later videos. I will also do a short video review of each book I read to go along with my written review, for those who want a more concise interpretation of my thoughts. If there are any other ideas on how to make the Vlog more interesting, please let me know as well.
And with that, the real work can begin. (If case anyone is interested, I am on Chapter 21 of Jonathan’s Cross so far.)
Looking good! 🙂
