Oops! It’s been a minute since I’ve posted some favorite posts. Here’s the next round though!

Okay you have no idea how much I wanted to be Raven back in the day. Or at least friends with her. She was my literal role model growing up okayyyyyy.

  • Book Review: Girls of Paper and Fire – Brittany @ Brittany the Book Guru

“Though this book was so far from something I would normally enjoy and took me completely by surprise with it’s plot and content, I found myself really invested in Lei’s story from the very beginning. Natasha Ngan has a beautiful writing style that offers you beautifully detailed descriptions and dialogue with great syntax.”

  • Middle Grade Monday – Review: Doll Bones by Holly Black – Melanie @ TBR & Beyond

“I really liked the character of Poppy and found it almost odd that she wasn’t the main character since it was her quest and everything the doll was doing, she seemed to be only doing to Poppy. “

  • Unique Premise Lacks Follow Through In The Memory Thief – Susan @ Novel Lives

“Once you get into the plot, the characters become frustratingly flakey. They become half-wits. At once wholly untrusting to completely gullible at the drop of a dime. Their reactions to traumatic situations become completely nonsensical.”

  • A Match Made in Mehendi by Nandini Bajpai ARC Review – @ 24hr YA Book Blog

“Simi is one of the more relatable YA Contemporary characters I’ve read in a while. Though I’m no longer in high school I really resonated with her on her journey of friendship, love, and the expectations we set upon ourselves + our futures: I feel people at any age are still navigating these situations, so I really appreciated Bajpai’s exploration of them and how they really connected with me!”
  • Reading Around the Globe: Catherine in Denmark – Kal @ Reader Voracious

“There is a culture of reading! There are bookstores, both used and a local chain, as well as libraries available. However, the culture is significantly smaller than in other countries.“

  • #Augvocacy2019 (Extended): The Importance of Asian Representation in Books – Shealea @ Shut Up Shealea (written by Tiffany)

“Some say that POCs don’t sell, while others claim that there were no POCs at that specific era (for certain historical fiction). As expected, white become the standard. They would make the effort to choose anyone other than POCs since it’s what everyone else is doing.”

  • What I Should Have Known As A New Blogger // Part II – Xandra @ Starry Sky Books

“I asked if y’all wanted another post about those kinds of things, and some of you said “yes”! I’m so glad that at least one person was inspired by that post, and I hope that you all can get something out of this one, as well.

  • Why I Write “Negative” Reviews (And Why You Don’t Have To) – Sammie @ The Writerly Way

“Because I’m the Wicked Witch of the … South. Where I melt with heat, rather than water, and my glittery shoes are black, like my heart. Or, you know, because those are the reviews I value the most, I suppose. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ But being a witch sounds like more fun.
  • WEEKLY CHECK IN: books I’ve read, etc. – Alliee @ Alliee Reads

“God, all I do is complain. (BITCH YOU JUST SPENT 16 DOLLARS ON MEDIOCRE PASTA AND A JUICE? YOU HAVE A RIGHT TO COMPLAIN YOU’RE BROKE AS FUCK I HAVE ACCESS TO YOUR BANK ACCOUNT)”

  • Fav Quotes #103 – Noor @ Noor Lightwood

“To stand in front of a person who is your whole world and be told you are not enough. You are not the choice. You are a shadow to the person who is your sun.”

  • A Quick Check-In: Sobathon wrap up and my Avatar Journey – Cande @ Latinx Magic

“I divided this post in three parts: books that are new favorites, books I liked very much and the books I dnf. I tried to make a short wrap up of each book so I don’t make this post TOO long, key word is try.”

  • 5 Star Predictions // A.K.A. What I already love but need to actually sit down and read it – @ Local Bee Hunter’s Little Nook

I haven’t been reading much as well so why not come here and dream about books I want to read so much I already 5-stared them in my head?”

  1. Aw thank you! I really needed that. I’ve written some snarky reviews but this one really disappointed people who were looking forward to this book and I felt like I spoiled Christmas. But everyone has been really supportive and I really appreciate it! I feel much better. Thank you sweetie!

    1. I mean not everyone is going to like all the books so why not be true about it? I loved your review. I’m on a blog tour for this one, so hopefully I end up liking it so I can at least write something about it, but if not, at least I got a warning about it, you know??? ❤ You're amazing Susan.

  2. Thank you so much for sharing my post ♥ I’m feeling like such a slack blogger lately and this put a smile on my face! I’m also super excited to read Sammie’s post about negative reviews, so thank you for putting that on here because now I have a new, fun discussion post to read!

    1. You’re so welcome, Brittany ❤ I always adore your posts – reviews, discussions, memes, updates, everything. I just love your blog in general and everyone should totally follow and support.

Oh yeah, Sammie's post on negative reviews was great, and I feel like I agreed with pretty much everything she said! She basically took the words out of my mouth and said in a way that was better than I could have written it lol.
