[Tag] Book Blogger Confessions

I found this fun tag from Adele @ Adele is Reading (who is a complete sweetheart so go follow! I guess it’s confession time, right? Uh oh.

which book, most recently, did you not finish?

I guess I’m not really surprised. I started listening to it when I was on my way to Hawaii and I just was not into it. I’m bummed too because the main character is fat (like me), darker skinned (like me) and I rarely get that in a fantasy book, but I was just not into it. It was a bummer also because the narrator was Jennifer Ikeda, which I love, but with all the Spanish influences in this book, I felt like the narrator should have been Latinx. So, yeah I took this off of my TBR a while ago and this reminded me that it’s staying off.

which book is your guilty pleasure?

I’m legit about to find this series on ThriftBooks or something and binge buy the whole thing. I could only find this book at my library back in Hawaii, and I was almost tempted to find it again when I went back in July but as you all remember, I didn’t read very much.

which book do you love to hate? & which book would you throw into the sea?

I love to hate TMI because I just can’t get into it. I’m sorry guys. I just can’t. But Enchantment… wow. I still have the review I wrote for this and I can’t believe I wasted my time reading this.

which book have you read the most?

Definitely a tie between these three books. Honorable mention to the first Daughters of the Moon series, but I don’t think it was as much as these.

which book would you hate to receive as a present?

Please don’t.

which book could you not live without?

I actually want to read this again next year. And of course, continue the series because I have a problem with finishing series.

which book made you the angriest?

Besides for obvious reasons. I think my review spells it out perfectly.

which book made you cry the most?

Apparently I was so messed up from TBDATE that I never even ended up writing a review on it. I just said “Wow, I’m so done. RTC.” and that was it. And of course we know why I was crying about Before I Disappear.

which book cover do you hate the most?

The fact that I have to post this on my blog twice is making me cringe.

Well that was a fun one! Hopefully you guys still like me after my confessions! Side note: how do you guys add those emojis to your post? Do I need a special keyboard for that? I want to make my posts look more whimsical and fun like I try to be.

Also if I didn’t tag you specifically, don’t fret! You can still totally do this tag. Trust me, I don’t get tagged in some posts and I still end up doing it. No rules! Enjoy life.

See you guys next time!

  1. Thanks for the tag! 🥰
I’m still not over how ugly that cover of STAGS is, like, what were they thinking?? I’ve never read TMI and a tiny part feels like I should give it a shot one day but seeing you hate it somehow excites me, lmao 🙈

    1. I still have to watch the movie. I mean I know that Angie Thomas ended up bawling at the end of it, so it must have moved her that much. I just feel like I’m never in the right mindset to really watch it.

Thanks again for visiting, Mai! I love your blog ❤

  2. I really want to read Vampire Academy! I watched the movie and everyone said noooo read the books, they’re better haha. So I need to. 🙂

Before I Disappear I am SO curious about, I think I’ve added it my TBR.

  3. YOU ARE TOO SWEET LEELYN!! 😭💖

oof, I think I have The Girl of Fire and Thorns on my TBR…but if you didn’t like it then I don’t think I’d like it either since we have similar tastes in books.

LOL, I can totally understand not being able to get into the TMI series. I’ve read the series once and didn’t review it, so when I tried to read City of Bones and review it then, I couldn’t even make it past the first page. LMAO. — I’d love to read your review for The Enchantment though.. I LOVE reading book reviews where the reviewer ends up not liking it.

I haven’t read The Last Namsara but I’m so happy that you like it! And not finishing series is a MOOD. I have a few series where I haven’t bothered reading the last book(s) to their series. I just don’t want the story to end/change!

I loved reading your answers to this tag and getting to know you a little more.💖💖

    1. Ugh Adele you are the sweet one ❤ Thanks so much for being you, okay! I love you so much and thanks for being one of my book buddies.

Yeah, there was a review that I read and basically the only time she was able to believe in herself and do all the things she was after she lost weight. That was the only time she found herself worth something. And I didn't like that, because like, I struggle with my weight and I'm really trying not to think that I'm only worth something when I get skinny (which I doubt I will because I'm trying to love my body the way it is), so it just didn't sit well with me. I didn't get to that part of course, so I can't speak from experience.

Oh man. I just absolutely hated Enchantment. I couldn't do it. It's on my blog here if you want to find it. I'm going to apologize right now for having to read that lol. And yeah, same. TMI is just not for me. I think the only saving grace with the show for me is the actress that plays Izzy because she's hella gorgeous and ugh amazing.

Oh I hope you end up reading The Last Namsara! I listened to it, but I have the hard copy so I'm glad that I have it in case I want to go back and read it again – before I read the sequel. I'm pretty sure that they are going to have a third book, but I don't know if I'm late in it coming out or something lol. Oh gosh that's my eternal mood man. I can never finish a damn series. It's terrible. I'm glad you freaking understand me!

Thank you so much, Adele. I think these are so fun to get to know each other without any stress lol. I think the only stress is having to find books that go with the question.

Sorry, this is such a long comment!

      1. Hey no worries about the long comment!
I love you too Leelyn☺️😁. OOF, now I definitely don’t want to read it. I’m glad we’re both saving ourselves the trouble.

lololol, I love this (not-really) drama of not being able to read a book. It’s like watching something that leaves you like 👀👀 LOL. I like the casting of the Shadow Hunters show, but couldn’t get into it, unfortunately. (I cannot stand Clary’s acting OOF)

Yessss, if I end up reading The Last Namsara I will definitely tell you!!

Stress-free getting-to-know-you’s are honestly the best, hahaha. ☺️💖

        1. Hehe thank you ❤ I think you and Sammie are the main ones that deal with my long comments 😀 I'm glad they aren't bad! Oh yeah, I wanted to save you from that! You've saved me from reading a lot of books too! And I know I still have get into the reverse harem world, thanks to you 🙂

OMG lolol yes! I totally know what you mean. Yeah ugh Clary pisses me off so badly.

          1. Ahahaha, don’t worry about the long comments at all honestly. Long comments are (in my opinion) more life-like, face-to-face conversations with friends who get you.

I am SO excited for you to get into the reverse harem genre. I can’t wait to see what you think💖!

  4. Thanks for the tag, girl! I haven’t been able to stop singing Confessions Part II ever since reading the title of this post 😂I love your answers! Adam Silvera always manages to make me cry and I’m so excited to read Before I Disappear! And OMG, The A-LIST! Talk about an epic throwback!? I picked that book up around the same time I started Gossip Girl back in HS and I LOVED it! Wow, I need to check that one out again 🤣

          1. BD gives me life! LOL I’m too scared to try Thriftbooks because I’ve heard some horror stories about some of the copies that they have on there! 🙈I think it’d be too much of a hassle for me to deal with internationally lol
