Top Ten Tuesday: Books on my Summer 2019 TBR

These are so much fun! I’m so glad to be taking part in this weekly meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. If you plan ahead (like I should), make sure you click on that link to see what’s coming up next. It’s ready all the way up to the end of September! This week is all about what’s on our Summer TBR. Do I even have one? Not really, but I’m gonna make one right now!

Gotta make sure I read this for the blog tour! My first one ever too. I’m crying, don’t mind me.

Disclaimer: most of these are going to be ARCs basically. Maybe an occasional book club or personal read. I need to get a handle on my ARCs.

The sequel that I’ve been holding off on because of my ARCs! I wonder if she will write another story about this family. I’d love to hear more about the Perez family.

I can’t put this off for too long. Seriously. Give me a day to just binge read this book and then Obsidio!

I need to finish this already!

I bought this. It’s on my desk. I love the cover. I need to read it. I need to READ IT, and not just stare at the cover all the damn time.

What’s on your summer list? Are any of these actual summer reads? Probably not. I mean, are they books I’d read at the beach? Well, yeah. I’m gonna read anything at the beach. But does it give summer vibes? I mean totally! There’s no official definition of “summer reads” but whatever you end up reading during the summer, right? What’s on your list?

  1. Gemina is sooo worth it! I never go in meaning to binge read them, but I couldn’t help it. I just picked up Obsidio last night, and I’ve had such a hard time putting it down in order to adult today. xD I really need to read The Bear and the Nightingale still! I’ve heard such good things about the series. Happy reading!

    Here’s my TTT post.

    1. I swear you never intent to binge until you actually intend to binge, but you end up binging either way and it’s not a bad thing! I think I was going to do that with Gemina but then I wanted to actually be awake for it and not read it in a tired stupor. I need to devote my full attention to Gemina and then Obsidio so I can appreciate it completely. If we didn’t have to adult, you know I’d be reading all the time lol.

Thanks so much for your link Sammie! Going to check it out now.

      1. It’s sort of how I judge whether I’m in a slump or just not feeling a book. I start something I know I’m likely to love and see if I get sucked into that or not. xD That’s how I ended up starting Obsidio, actually, because I wasn’t feeling a book I had started. Turns out, it wasn’t me. It was the book. We broke up, and it’s sitting very happily back on its shelf at the library now, so no hard feelings. 😉

I don’t think the Illuminae series is one to read when you can’t pay utmost attention, because there are so many little details. I even missed one today! Thankfully, the little notes in the corner pointed it out (the analyst ID changed for the video summaries). I love finding little things like that and was so annoyed that I had missed it lol.

    1. The cover of The Grace Year hooked me, and the synopsis got me to request it and thank goodness I got approved to read it! Now I just have to actually read it lol. Oh man I’m dying to finish The Bear and the Nightingale already. I think I need to finish Eldest first because it’s due in 9 days but if I can renew it, then I’ll switch. Gemina is on my shelf eyeing me to pick her up and get it over with lol.

    1. You have to tell me: did you like Hanna more than Kady, or both equally? I keep hearing I’ll absolutely love Hanna, which I don’t doubt from what I got to take a sneak peek of already. I bought Obsidio recently because I realized I never did lol. So now I can finish the trilogy without having to wait.

  2. As fast as you read, you’ll probably finish this list so fast you’ll need a whole new list for the rest of Summer! 😅 I agree with you about the Summer thing… if you read it during the Summer season, then it’s a Summer book… right?
