I’ve never been tagged in a game before, but since Howling Libraries (the lovely Destiny) opened this tag to everyone, I knew I had to jump on it! Thank you also Destiny for including the original source of the tag, linked here for your viewing pleasure!
- A really hyped book you’re not interested in reading?

Everyone always talks about how amazing John Green books are, but they also talk about how it breaks their hearts. I can’t handle that. I didn’t watch the movie either, and I just don’t think this is a book I will read any time soon. Nothing against John Green, I just don’t want to cry about it.
- A series you won’t start/won’t be finishing?

I. Can’t. Get into this book. I couldn’t even finish the first season of Shadowhunters despite my love for Izzy. I think I already took this book out of my TBR for good, and if I can’t get through the first book, I’m not getting through the rest.
- A classic that you’re just not interested in?

For one, this classic is super duper long, and I feel like my attention span is not going to keep up with this for long. Two, I don’t think I was interested in watching the play or the movie either, because I’m just an uncultured swine that doesn’t want to watch pain and suffering on purpose. Maybe one day when I grow up?
- Any genres you never read?

I’ve never been one for steamy romance novels. That just isn’t my thing. Plus I feel like the covers look too similar so it must be a similar plot. But that’s just me judging a book by its cover and my own issues that I’ll work on. But for now, no romance novels with covers like this for me.
- A book on your shelves you’ll probably never read?

I first tried to read this book for a book club meeting. I don’t think I even got halfway through it before I decided that – yeah – I’m not liking this. Actually I know I didn’t get halfway through. I felt like there were too many details that didn’t seem important, and maybe I’m just not grown enough to read something like this. But I may sell it to someone who wants to read it. I’m sure this book will find a better home than I can provide to it.
In the spirit of Destiny, if you’re reading this post, I’m tagging you to do it as well! Link me yours if you do end up playing along, as I’d love to see what’s on your list!
Until next time,
-Leelynn
Our reading tastes are SO similar. I also cannot get into the Mortal Instruments series no matter how many people recommend it to me. Also, John Green is… I don’t know. I think his work tends to be overrated, personally. I only really like Looking for Alaska. The Fault in Our Stars almost romanticizes cancer. I don’t know how to explain it, but you’re not missing out on anything.
Great post!

Ugh yes that’s part of the reason why I love buddy reading with you and getting book recs from you! I haven’t read Looking for Alaska or any of John Green books honestly. Maybe one day. ❤

Our buddy reads are the best ♥ IF you’re going to go for John Green, Looking for Alaska is the only one I’d personally recommend!

Oh my gosh so much same for me on this. I also feel like there are so many books in the Shadowhunter series it feels impossible to catch up. Great tag!

Ugh Mir I totally missed this! I’m so sorry! It really does! I also feel like it’s so overwritten that it’s too many books already. Thanks so much ❤
